Thanks for the advice, I sent my letter today recorded delivery. I also had a phone call from the same company today, I would warn people they do seem quite sneeky, I refused to confirm my details and told them I wouldnt deal with them until I had all the documents I had requested. The man then spent 10mins trying to get the info from me by asking various questions, saying the would visit my home , ect. Same old bull so be aware. For referance the number they called me on was 07814 390283

I have now recieved a letter from allied international debt collectors demanding full payment, has anyone else recieved this little yellow card yet. I really dont know what to do now there is no way that even if I could, I would not pay these mugs near £5000. Is there any updates with the case because I would realy like to know what is happening.

Fuzzbutt I would also be willing to be a representative, my case is straight forward I’m still within 2 years I just won’t accept computeach. There is one thing bothering me though, this line from Ingrid on the site “The other issue is that I think people may be thinking we have taken on the case, and is important that people understand that we are still investigating it.” By this I understand that Hausfeld are not currently representing us and are still deciding if they will take on the case.

My post was more a warning to others than anything else, just showing they will lie over the phone to get you to sign up with computeach. Her whole line was "Yea sure we will give you money back, just sign up with computeach then cancel your course, oh an I’m sorry but I can’t put that in writing just trust me yea" How stupid do they think we are. She then confirmed my account was in dispute and that it was on the system but told me the phone calls would continue, I said that’s fine I will just add harassment to my case against them. She didn’t know what to respond to this and that was the end of the call.

Just had another call from BPF, they seem to be trying a new way to get my money now. The very polite lady said they would be happy to cancel my credit agreement; all I had to do was confirm my details with compucrap and cancel my training. Funny though how when I asked for this in writing she went very quiet and was unable to tell me when they would be able to send this. Looks like they will try anything to get me to sign up with them.

I haven’t posted in a while but have been watching daily. I thought I should raise a point that may be of interest, for those who do not gain there A+ certification before 01/01/11 will have to resit exams every 3 years, as Comp TIA have changed their policy so the qualification will only last 3 years. Maybe interesting to see if this would affect Computeaches pricing, or would they neglect to mention what they are providing is only a temporary qualification.

After receiving more calls today I found quite a comical yet effective method for preventing the calls. If your mobile supports it there are many blacklist apps that will prevent certain numbers contacting you, better than that though you can setup a forwarding number. For my forwarding number I entered BPF number, so now whenever they try to ring me my phone diverts it to their own office. Now they can discuss my account between themselves.

I had another call from BPF this evening, I explained once again to the lady that I was disputing my account; at this point she put me on hold for about 5-10 min. When she returned she apologised for calling me whilst the account was in dispute, told me she would freeze the account for two weeks whilst I collected the information I needed and requested any paperwork from them, then assured me there would be no more calls during this 2 week period. Seems like Barclays may actually be taking this letter seriously now. Although weather there is any truth to her remarks are yet to be seen, but my calls ARE recorded so I can’t wait for someone else to ring and contradict her.

I have just had a look at computeach's website and they dont appear to be partnered with PROMETRIC, well advent was. What do you reckon would this be a case for it not being equal or better training. On another note when I first looked into IT training I made an appoinment with computeach. They diddnt even bother to turn up or ring to let me know they wouldnt make it, then 3 days later they were ringing to find out why I didnt want to sign with them. Bunch of cowboys there is no way I am going to accept this.

So have I, it still applies Barclays provided credit for goods and services, these are unsatasfactory so falls under section 75. Dosent matter if you pay them back monthly or you have already repaid the full amount to them, you should still be covered. I would again advise people to not cancel Direct Debits though as the last thing you need is to give Barclays an advantage, which they would have if you broke contract by not paying.

As far as I am aware these agreements are FINANCE agreements not personal loans, so in theory you should be entitled to the same protection as if you bought something using a credit card. This means Barclays share equal liability. Now since the goods we have bought are unsatisfactory or not as promised we are entitled to a refund, this can’t be provided by Advent so we are well within in our rights to claim are refund via the credit company i.e. Barclays. I quote section 75 of the consumer credit act. "75 — (1) If the debtor under a debtor-creditor-supplier agreement falling within section 12(b) or © has, in relation to a transaction financed by the agreement, any claim against the supplier in respect of a misrepresentation or breach of contract, he shall have a like claim against the creditor, who, with the supplier, shall accordingly be jointly and severally liable to the debtor."

I would advise people not to cancel DD to barcleys at the moment. As much as it hurts to pay for something we are not recieving they will be looking for any way they can to not pay up. So by cancelling your DD and effectivley breaking your side of the contract it will give them an excuse to not pay up. You can ring them and tell them to freze all payments, which they have to honour for at least 30 days, this way you will not be breaking contract, they wont be taking any money and it will give some xtra time for a solution to be found.

I also have barcleys partner finance and after just speaking to them quite bluntly about the situation they have, A) froze payments until the end of march B)promised to find a replacement training provider C) assured me if the problem has not been resolved by my next payment due date, they will cancel the agreement and refund what I have already paid. I asked for them to confirm this in writting which they said they will send out to me. I advise everyone else in this situation to do the same. Rember to quote them on part 3 of there contract. "3) If the contract is not fulfilled, perhaps because the supplier has gone out of bussiness, you may still be able to sue us. Make they know you are aware of this as are the thousands of others in the same prediciment and that we will act on this.
