Just to let everyone know, Im going to Citizens Advice today to see what they say, I will be showing them the signed documents i have and will also tell them the notice on Advents website saying Barclays pulled the funding. Will let anyone know in the same situation as me (Barclays Partner Finance) what they say

I have a bit of paper that mentions the CCA74, I took the loan out in November 2008 with the deal i had to pay the £4,950 within a year which i managed to pay it fully by November 2009. So my loan has been fully paid, Im only halfway through the 1st A+ Essentials book. I also have a copy of the 3 bits of paper from Barclays.

I managed to save a picture with the news of them ceasing. Thought it might come in handy with them saying Barclays pulled out so i will be printing it out and taking to the CAB. If anyone wants it, PM me your msn and i can send it over there. I have also kept the Facebook photo's just incase they might come handy.

Looking by the facebook comments people, Barclays are only offering to find another Retailer to continue the training. I dont know much about the legal side of things but surely we have an option to not take this as our agreements were with Barclays & Advent. Im trying to get to my local Citizens Advice but ive had no luck so far, If anyone manages to get in contact with them can you please let us know in here if we have to accept or possible to get a refund.

Anyone know what i should do 1st, Get in touch with the Citizens Advice (Phone or Walk in Visit) or contact Barclays about this. Im not looking to carry on with the course at another company based on that i paid to do it with advent and if they offered another company, That same company could do the same thing as Advent. I just want to get a refund, Or as much back as possible

I wouldnt just expect a refund if i didnt want to do it anymore, But the company have gone bust mate. I dont want to carry on knowing that the next company barclays choose can have the same happen to them what we have had with Advent. I would rather not take that risk and attempt to educate myself instead.

We are all in a bad situation here Lindsay, None of us are having the best of luck finding out what to do, where to go, where we stand etc. We are currently not sure whether out £5,000 is going to get us anywhere, Some even have their own mortgage and kids and have no work relying on this course to get them work. You and your colleagues have lost jobs and need a income to replace it. We just need to stick together and fight this, Barclays will probably find another company to continure to train us, But i dont want that. I want my money back in full so i can move on with my life and train in the same career by myself.

So basically means that the some who dont want to chance being in this position again cannot get a refund?

Would it be worth me ringing Barclays as my Partner Finance loan has already been paid. Is there a chance of me getting my money back?

I want my money back too, As you say it could happen again next year and whats stopping it from happening.

Isnt direct debit paying monthly though? I had 5k to pay before November 2009 or it would have gone to 10k. Didnt have to pay monthly, Just had to find 5k within a year of starting the course.

Hi, Just got the paperwork from my dad. I took out a Barclays Partner Finance, It says Retailer name is Advent Consulting LTD, and it also says under Key Information. Now does that affect me, As i paid off this loan in November 2009, And/Or is the supplier Advent?

If someone can put an email address down i would happily email them and let then know my story, I would suggest others do aswell

I have also just been sent this email danton, I will try to contact them tommorrow or just wait for them to contact me. Does anyone know if i have lost my £5k, I only got through half of the 1st book (A+ Essentials) as i have been in and out of work since November 2008 when i started the course.
