  1. Hi, Can anyone help me on a wee problem. I moved into my current property last November on a 12 month contract with the company let's call them RR. The guy I deal with isn't very nice, I got a bad feeling about him from the off. When I paid last month's rent - He got in contact with me saying how it was late, there was no money in the account - I informed him that I had paid & could prove this. I then get a txt asking if future rent could be paid into another company, & there was a new account number & sort code. My question is this: Is my contract valid? I have had no written correspondence regarding a change of company - The website of RR is still up & running with no mention of a change. Also to be notified of this by txt? My rent is due on Monday, paying is not a problem but I'm wary of handing over £610 to a company I did not sign on with. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I was paying them £50, then I brought it down to £30. I wanted to bring that payment lower again but they said no. I mean, I've just moved from Wales to Leeds - Job fell though, I got a job now but when I get paid it will be 3 months since I've had money coming in, so you can imagine the build up of bills I've had to sort out!
  3. I don't think I signed an agreement, I just said i'd pay so much a month. Annoyingly it wasn't even my bill - My fault mind, I got a contract for my partner at the time. Will contact 02 that would be great if I could deal with them directly.
  4. Hi guys, need a little bit of advice. Got into arrears with my 02 bill & the debt was passed on to Wescot. I've fell behind payments a few time - due to some rotten luck with me moving miles from home to find the job I was due to start falling through. They've sent me a final letter asking for the whole sum. I can't pay it, to be honest I don't really want to deal with Wescot any-more. Is there a way I can pay this bill with another company? They are an awful company - I explained why I was having trouble paying but the attitude I had was 'and....' Anyone help? Thanks
  5. Not sure, he does have a little girl but is on great terms with her mother & more than pays his way.
  6. Thanks both. He asked his boss & he wasn't sure either. I'll check out the link & get on the phone! Will let you know what's going on!
  7. Hi, firstly big thank you to hallowitch who explained how to make new threads! Here's my question. My brother has slight learning difficulties, I've always taken care of him, made sure bills were paid etc. He phoned me last night bit upset, that on his wage slip £6 was taken out & it said HMCS caps. I have no idea what this is for, nor does he. I'm a bit annoyed as he was really upset by this, £6 may not seem like a lot but due to my brother disabilities it may as well be a £600, he doesn't understand. Anyone shed some light on this?
  8. Hi I searched for HMCS caps & this thread came up. I don't know how to make a new topic. 9. Thanks for the advice! LOL that's really clever! I emailed them over the weekend telling them that I closed my account (I haven't) & that I didn't have the money. They got back saying that the account would go into default status, & I should contact them as I am a valued customer. The money should have been paid yesterday - they haven't tried to take the money out as yet!
  10. Thanks rob Ok will keep an eye out - if they do, do I just contact Natwest? Natwest used to be able to stop D/D's but I don't think they can anymore.
  11. I really feel for you tillytiger, I myself have got into a bit of mess with these payday loans. It started off with some money to tie me over then got out of control. I ended up borrowing to pay off the previous loan. Then I moved to England for a new job that fell through. With no job, I've been stuck. I haven't borrowed of any other companies & have since found work (I get paid next month) which will solve most of my problems. But I owe Quickquid £300. The money is due next week, I cancelled my direct debit ages ago, & they've sent me a few emails reminding me that the payment is due. Am I safe? I mean because I cancelled the direct debit, I was hoping to not pay them then pay it all off & whatever interest I get in Feb.
