Hi everyone, i just a letter from Barclays saying that they are going to debit my account at the beginning of this month, even though they told me they'd give me a months notice before they did it. I was just wondering if anyone else has got it and if so, is there anyway to stop them?

they tried that with me, you just need to push them to do it, tell them that you are aware that other account holders have had their accounts frozen, i did and it worked

This is the same step i took, and by the sounds of it, its the only step that can be taken at this time for the Barclays Finance lot. We just have to wait until they get in contact with us RE new training providers, like alot of you in this forum, im not happy to be fobbed of onto another provider and will be fighting to cancel my agreement. I would not advise any of us cancelling our DD's with barclays as pointed out previously it would put u in breach of contract. we just have to sit tight for the mean time!

thanks alot for this, will do this first thing 2mmrw morning and hopefully i will get the same response that you did. I am quite happy to walk away from it, i dont want them to find another provider, think this situation has put me off it altogether.

thanks alot, a couple of others have had similar responses, now i guess its just a waiting game, going to see if they can put the account on hold until they come to a resolution, dont like the idea of continually paying for something that no longer exsists.

hi all, Apparently Barclays are going to be sending out a letter to everyone that had finance between them and advent, they claim that they will be relocating our training to another provider? Is there anyway to get out of them doing this, i would much rather not do the course at all, this has got all very messy and dont want to go through it again.

Hey all, I have just found out that Advent is going bust, im really scared now as I got Finance through them with Barclays to pay for the course, with Advent going under, I guess im still liable for the money even though they didnt deliver all the training. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle things, im going to contact the bank first thing tomorrow and explain to them what has happened and see if they can help out, but i think that might be fruitless.. Any advise would be appreciated Thanks
