  1. No complaint, hence 'the fair cop' remark.. Thanks for your interest, I'll let you know when I need further advice on the laws of the land.
  2. Hi all, Got a pcn in the post, illegally parked on a double yellow whilst grabbing a coffee.. a fair cop I guess. However, I notice there's some publicity regarding illegal cameras, incorrect certification etc. I'm tempted to appeal given this but would I be right in guessing that WCC have closed this 'loophole'? Any info would be most welcome. JOOI, there was NO legal parking within a half mile or so radius. I'll bet local traders love their council..
  3. I know this topic has been well covered but just posting this in case the law has changed or moved on. At LHR T1 the parking bays are small and my carrier is big. Therefore i selected a bay and parked over the white line it has to be admitted. However the adjoining bay contained some kind of storage unit protruding from the facing wall so was unlikely to be used, plus the car park was half empty. I returned with clients an hour later to find a 'Parking Enforcerment Notice (PEN)' stuck to the windscreen. I'm hoping the best thing to do (as always) is to ignore it. Advice would be most welcome. regards Brian
  4. As an update on two postal tickets from MET(Autumn 2009). ignored all their reminders/threats and don't take phone calls unless I know the caller - perhaps they tried to call, who knows.. All gone away, clearly they gave up. Huge thanks to the people who offered expert advice on here;) Cheers.
  5. The whole thing is a real can of worms isn't it? I'll certainly be doing the 'ignoring' thing.. Regards
  6. Newbie here - great advice, many thanks. Below is a post to uk.rec.driving Hi all with apologies if this has been discussed before, I received a 'ghost' parking fine this morning (£50) for overstaying in McD's car park Gatwick by 21 minutes (60 minute limit) on December 19th. The outfit that issued the ticket are MET Parking Services and the notice is couched in official sounding language. 'Photographic evidence' is also supplied - with times and date. So, after my initial outrage subsided I googled MET and there is an awful lot of consumer forum activity where the words 'ignore' '[problem]' and similar words appear frequently. Then, as a private hire driver, I checked my diary and it would appear that I wasn't even there on the 19th - unless I made a mistake which is a coincidence I wouldn't think likely. The consumer forums seem to say the same thing, just ignore, including letters from solicitors & bailiffs (which appear to emanate from the same address). Has anyone here had the same or a similar experience? Regards Brian Surrey UK
