  1. Sorry to hear that Nowayjose! i usually can control my disease, but my op involved two and a half foot of colon removed and just had a tempory colostomy reversed and currently trying to get my system back up and running (which my consultant says it takes upto 12 months, but im being optimist at 6 months) I've had a really prouctive day! I've called community legal advice, they are helping me! the very nice lady as sent out the appeal form and gone through the Atos score marks and highlighted that with my current symptoms and situation I should of scored well over 15 points not Zero!!! If my Appeal is upheld and has goes go to tribunal, they will pay for detailed medical reports and documents from my two consultants and GP, compile a case, but they will be unable to repesent me at the tribunal as they are telephone based, but they were very helpful. I've been to the JC today to see my adviser and he admitted the Atos System is naff! I also spoke to both consutants secretarys one consultant secretary thanked me for fore-warning of any appeal and one is getting my consultant to prepare and send me a letter to send with my appeal! I'm going to contact the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease to ask for their advise and guidance. Is it worth complaining about Atos and the way the have not show my illness in a true light! saying that nothings wrong with me when i've absolutely got a cronic illness?? (im awaiting on the detailed Atos Report!)
  2. I've got IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and just had the same response as you Wills123, on the paper work you got telling you the responses to your work assesement there is a number for the Community Legal Services Direct (very last paragraph) and I called them today, they were very helpful, they are sending out all the paperwork I need to appeal and giving advice on the appeal, they are calling me again tomorrow to get a indepth view of my situ and see where the DWP/Atos have gone wrong!
  3. I have recived today a form informing me that I am no longer entitled to ESA because I didn't score 15 points, I didn't score one! even on the areas I should of got points! even though I made it clear of my medical situation, I took medical evidance in the from of lettters from my two consultants outlining my current condition and medical history, Basically I had a Major operation in november on my digestive/bowel system (the second one in 12 months) I have just finished reciveing treatment on my wounds and have been told by both my Consultant and GP that Its going to take time to heal as its my core muscles that have been cut and beacuse I need to retrain my bowels. I also have crohn's disease which doesn't help. Whats best to do next? I have requested a GL24 to appeal, and apparently have to write to get my Atos medical report. I have a meeting booked in January to see my JC adviser is there anythings that he could do?
  4. I have similar situ to you Elsa, neil, Was in hospital when I filled out the med form, I've had Chrons/colitis since 2006 (my consutlant wont give a sure answer on which I have, although the surgon who operated on me says most likley chrons) i've had the azathioprine, Prednisone, Asacol, Omeprazole, which came to ahead last year when my colon developed a small hole and leaked all over my spine and hip, they operated and removed 2 foot of colon and created a tempory stoma, I was working on a temp contract at the time and claimed ssp, during this time I was 'let go' by the company and called DWP and was put on JSA, in Nov i had the stoma reversed and I am still recovering now, my scar hasn't healed and the constulants both said I need time to recover, I hope I get a doctor like you got Elsa, who understand what Impact IBD can have on a person.
  5. A letter came through today telling me to attend a Atos med ass later this month! After reading...how should i put this.....Lots of Negative things about Atos! what is to be expected? To explain my current health....but a basic explanation is! I have /Colitis (one consltant says i've got IBD but wont say which one with out further tests later this year and the surgon who operated on me says Chrons) and in November 2008 I was admitted to hospital with lower back pain and the inability of being able to move my left leg, this was diagnosed as a internal abscess after a week on IV antibiotics, I was sent home, two months later I was rushed in with same problem but far worse, and it was found that my colon was leaking, I was sent for a op that was meant to last 1.5hrs but ended up 5.5hrs because after opening me up they found it was far worse than first thought! I woke up with a Temporary colostomy and 2 foot of Colon missing! Late November i had the colostomy reversed and my recovery has been slow the entry site the cut in my abdominal wall is not fully healed and needs regular care at my local health centre, my two consultants both say for the insides to heal it will take time and lots of rest. Also I am waiting to go in for further investigations to see what’s happening inside ( mid march) From what I read Atos only take into view the fact you can walk, talk, breath, stand for 3min and sit. I am worried that they won't take into account what my consultants say and what’s happening inside my body. Sorry for the long winded post:-(
  6. Could somebody please advise me how often ESA should be paid into your bank account? I don't seem to have been paid since before christmas. I had a major opperation in November, sent in a hospital note (covering time that I was in hospital) and a two week sick note from the consultant surgeon, after this I was given a further two week sick note from my GP, followed by a eight week note from the gp. Im still reciving weekly treatment from my Primary Health Care, I have been sent a letter for a Pathway to Work interview and yesterday recived a letter to be medically assesed! Surely I shouldn't need to be assesed at a medical centre if i'm regually reciving treatment and my two consultants say that its going to take time until im fit again.
