  1. EIE - You asked for the email of the Mail Reporter who did article last Sunday 3rd Jan. Main article featured a repo from Rooftop but ..... there was still a substanitial boxed article headed " Unregulated The Tough Sub Prime Mortgage Lenders - article referred to SPML!! Article actually stated " The current ownership of many such lenders is unclear" and Goes on to say that Citizens Advice etc. suggests these lenders are especially harsh over arrears! Quote from FSA in article says "Regulation doesnt cover the owner only the administrator and the Administrator has no responsibility for setting rates and charges. We support proposals to extend our remit. The report ends by saying Capstone, responsible for SPML failed to answer our questions!! What a surprise. So what does anyone make of this? And importantly, article ended by saying "Do you have a mortgage with SPML, Preferred, Rooftop or Oakwood? Email [email protected] So guess we should all email him and tell him to look carefully through all these pages and Read!!! Perhaps those more "technically legal" can raise some more specific questions with him? An opportunity???
  2. Eagleforms, I just responded to your suggestion at attacking them at their achilles heel ie: their extortionate excessive charges. As if FSA ordered them to repay back fees (as per October GMAC etc) then it would at least be a bit of justice and a welcome boost and surely raise awareness of SPML/Capstone ethics on a more public scale. I am about to take up with FSO. However, I too like many others are very interested in the legal aspect if Capstone can even legally carry out court action on behalf of SPML/SPPL/Eurosail or whoever? As my interest is not just about charges but I too am under the same threat as many others!! So any shared legal info is greatly appreciated.
  3. Aren't the FSA about to announce in January, the names of 4 companies theyve been investigating re: extortionate mortgage charges? GMAC were ordered in October to repay millions back to customers due to their arrears charges and SPMLs are higher! So isnt there a little glimmer that shortly FSA may order SPML to repay all of us our excessive charges back? I am sure this would help us all, even somewhat temporarily. Although if shortly dont exist, who pays?? But if charged, would at least heighten SPMLs ethics more publicly! Plus daily mail reporter and recent article asked for people to email him if they had a SPML mortgage etc. So maybe possible press backing? Or at least ian nterest in SPML! (I too am querying charges, been fobbed off and waiting for fsecond final response letter, contacted FOS who said have to give them chance to make full reply!) Can guess what they're going to say though!
  4. As I am new to all this (new to this site that is, not new to SPML and Capstone unfortunately) can I just say, I think all your efforts are fantastic! Working together to try to unravel this absolute legal minefield. Lets hope that we all get a welcome boost and extra legpower by an imminent concrete announcement soon! Shame no-one knows some legal whizz or some interested reporter?
  5. Can someone confirm, if they know, is it just SPPL that looks likes its impending insolvency? SPML is not quite there yet? Those public notices detailing selling bonds etc., predominently mention SPPL but later on in scipt, mention SPML impending insolvency too? Bit confusing? Is it perhaps SPPL is further up the formal paperwork chain than SPML? THX
  6. Hello Im new here but have read with interest all the stories and detective work thats being going on. I wonder what everyone thinks we should do?Just sit tight, and see if FSA announce in Jan that infact Capstone/SPML are infact 1 of the 4 that have been investigated and maybe ordered them to refund extortionate charges back, as per GMAC? Although if thats the case, who would pay? (If SPML dont or wont exist?) Plus any ideas on how to find out if infact Capstone can issue Repo Orders and if Suspended ones can be legal, for a company that is insolvent? Any feddback would be much appreciated? I know some MPs have written some paper havent they? and are questioning FSA's timescales? Views?
