Hi, I had a similar problem i bought items which were fixed by a builder and then items developed faults. I first contacted the company bought from who said they would sort out the problem. After being fobbed off a couple of times I wrote a letter to the Managing Director of company headed "Formal Letter of Complaint" I was offered full refund for faulty products eventually, but left me in same position as yourself where I had suffered consequential losses. I declined the offer of a full refund and contacted my local trading standards office who told me to write to the head office of the company enclosing copies of all correspondence relating to this problem. This I did and headed letter "Final Letter of Complaint", with this I received my consequential losses as well as full refund for faulty products. With yourself having accepted the refund, I dont know if this leaves you in a difficult position, but my advice would be to contact your local trading standards and see what they advise. When buying goods they have to be fit for the purpose that they were bought for, your goods clearly were not therefore you should be restores to the position that you were in before you purchased the faulty goods. They are part of Fredrickson International and as mentioned in previous posts they are somehow linked in to Brian Carter/Bryan Carter. I have sent complaint letter to Fredricksons and received a final response letter from them after I stated in the letter that I was going to complain about them and their conduct to the OFT, FSA, TS, CSA (who they are a member of and have Codes of Practice for their members) and ask the Information Commissioner to do a formal assessment under Section 42 of the Data Protection Act 1998. I then today received another letter from PO Box 1173, Woking, and after googling it is SRJ Debt Recovery. So I am reporting the pair to CSA who they are both a member of and will definitely report both of them to the Information Commissioner. If you go online to ICO site and click on complaints, there is a Data Protection Complaint form which you can either fill in online or download fill in and post. Good Luck Val
