  2. i do have a spot of a theory, for anyone that is really worried about this, ACS:Law, may have overlooked one very little detail. If they say that their clients (digisoft etc) harvested IP addresses for tracing uploaded versions of their work, this means that to become a tracker, their client would have had to upload a version of their work, and make available the download in which to track it. Now, i may not be intellegent at all 99% of the time, but if this is the case, under media and copyright laws, if the client is uploading the work to P2P sites, then that makes the firle LEGAL to download anyways because it has been uploaded to the orginal owner, whatever the reason behind them uploading it (to share, to catch others etc) is rendered totally irrelevant. on the other hand, under british law we are innocent until proven guitly, so if anyone is worried bacuse they may have downloaded this, don't worry, the only people who have the power to remove your machine and search its contents are the police, and after speaking to a mate of mine who works for the police as a computer analyst in the counter terrorism unit, "this company have no pwoer at all to order police to do that", they would have to contact the police, the police wouil then in turn have to put a case together and apply for a warrent to do so, and in his words "is extremely unlikly to happen, as unless its child porn or a threat to national security, they aint really too interested" Write a decent letter of denily and ride it out, after all the digging about ive done, and so have many others, seems you will have a second and maybe even third letter after the reply to them, asking for a greater sum, then they bugger off, take me to court, please! id give it 2mins into the case before the judge chucks it out on all being circumstantial, then we can all go to town on these jokers in courtroom, for slander, false accusations and obtaining private information (through reach of the data protection act)
  3. Scooter - Jumping all over the world, apparently sent on behalf of digiprotect and some long dodgy german words again as others have reported, demanding money in the regions of 500
