  1. Thank you for you reply sorry for just jumping into this thread, i have written to them stating they have breached DPA and they had spoke to my mother in law but the reply was they dont have to ask anything else other than the name of the account holder, they avoided my complaint about speaking with my mother in law. I dont have a phone that records but i am thinking of buying one. they are english, american and asian people and all very rude they even shout at me on the telephone (excellent customer service) i just dont know if i am wrong or not about data protection questions for outbound credit card call centres or not. thanks for the link
  2. I hope someone can give me advice on MBNA credit card company and data protection. when MBNA call me they only ask if they are speaking to mrs Breen and i will say yes! they then go on about my account which is in arrears as i lost my job due to bad health. They called one day and got my mother in law and she too is mrs Breen so they started to discuss my account with her, she ended the call but i was mortified as you can imagine, i sent in a complaint and they say they do not have to ask anymore questions than the name of the account holder. I thought they should have to ask name, address, postcode,d,o,b etc a minimum of three security questions to confirm who they are talking to? i have sent a letter to the Information Commissioners Office, but i am waiting on my case to get looked into, i have called the FSA who say credit card/loan companies have their own DPA but i cant find it anywhere online they said i might have a case. Can anyone help?
  3. add me in, is it right that if they call you they dont have to ask security questions? ie your postcode address date of birth etc they only ever ask my name then go on and on about my dept with them, i have asked this question to the people who call me their excuses were, to save me time or they dont have to ask this as i am in dept with them, but they could be discussing my account to anyone, anyone could say yes am mrs X
  4. i have had no letter to attend court as yet but i was advised that this graham white is real and acting on behalf of central ticketing so time will tell, i thought i would have heard more from this graham white or mr sobell. i got my ticket away back in november so they are dragging their feet a bit.
  5. Hi all i posted a thread a while ago and straight after that i contacted the SRA re: Graham White, today i got a call from Pat Murphy External Investigations Officer Solicitors Regulation Authority, and he said that Graham White IS and has worked with central ticketing and this is not a [problem], there will be court cases eventually as they have so many years to back date these, i got a letter from Graham White away back in june/july but not heard anything else, does anyone have any other advice, i dont like the idea having to go to court. thanks.
  6. hi what happened with your reply? i know it was a while ago, but i just sent off my first letter today thanks

  9. hi i contacted the SRA this is the email i got back... Dear Mrs Breen, Thank you for your e-mail dated 25 June 2009. Based on the information in your e-mail I have found the following solicitor working at the following firm: Mr Michael David Sobell (Solicitor) Graham White (Firm) Manor House Lavender Park Road West Byfleet Surrey KT14 6ND Telephone Number - 01932 332 020 Mr Sobell was admitted to the roll of solicitors on 1 March 1962 and the firm, Graham White was formed on 1 May 1995. Mr Graham White worked at the firm until 16 February 2007 and although he remains on the roll of solicitors of England and Wales we hold no employment post for him at the present time. If after calling Graham White the letter was not sent by them and they advise you it may be fraud our fraud intelligence unit would be happy to investigate further for you: Fraud Intelligence Unit Telephone - 01926 439662 E-mail [email protected]

  11. hi i just got a letter from Graham White Solicitors, the letter was signed from Michael Sobell, the adress on the letter is Micheal Sobel Solicitor, Manor House, Lavender Park Road, West Blyfleet, Surrey, KT14 6ND. with Graham White headed paper. they are saying they are going to take me to small claims court for a minimum of £170 and says it will effect my credit for 5 years. i am not sure what to do now. can anyone help? thanks
  12. i got a ticket for parking in a private car park, but the sign did not state this, it said to be used for customers shopping in this area and did not say what shops "owned" the car park, i appealed and it was turned down and now i have a letter from a dept collection company saying they are going to send this on for court action if i dont pay £185, will this go to court? i took a pic of the sign and kept it on my computer, will i just ignore this dept collection company? will they come to my door? i live in scotland and i am not sure how these are dealt with here. thanks.
