  1. have recently been through the same process but have today rec'd a letter confirming that they are unable to find the original credit agreement and are therefore closing my account. Keep fighting do not contact them. If you have done a CCA it is up to them to provide the original agreement until they have they cannot enforce the debt.
  2. I have been hounded by these companies togther with Red Collection for the last couple of years for a debt that was never mine. After reading some very helpful information I ignored the letters until finally they threatened me with issuing a statutory demand. Whilst this site indicated it was probably another threatening tactic I was not prepared to take the chance. So I sent them a CCA letter (details from this site). Suddenly the tack changed I was informed they would get it from the original creditor and send it to me and then I would have to pay the debt in full. 2 weeks later I received a letter indicating that the creditor was having difficulty locating the original agreement and that they would not contact me again until they had it in their possession but at that point I would have to pay the debt in full and if I wanted to spread the payments then call immediately. Today I recieved a letter from Lowell saying that the creditor could not locate my agreement and that they have closed their file and will not contact me again. (result) The purpose of this post is to tell people to fight these sharks. They pray on peoples fears. They purchase the debts for a pittance and they only want you to contact them by phone so that they can intimidate you into paying. They make money out of threatening people into paying debts that they have no real right to chase. Follow the help on this site don't let them intimidate you. Good luck
