  1. Well the news is I was let off due to a clerical error! so just goes to show if you stand your ground - even if you were in the wrong - you can get let off... saved a total of £120.
  2. hm.. still the info given is as good as a chocolate fire guard.... I have appealed against the ticket as they contradict themselves in it. will see what happens... Im pretty much getting ready to pay the £30 just want them to work for it. As for walking being practical... well it would'nt have been as there was quite a bit of luggage to be dragged halfway around town to get to the station... so kinda smart comment but not really!
  3. commedian... like it, guess this site aint what i thought it might be, shamw as for the private parking company pcn it actually came in handy... will stop recommending this site
  4. Reason I went the way I did was because I did not know how to get to the pickup point other than using the bus route to get to the pickup point and leave again. I did explain this to the council and because of this I believe they dropped one of the PCNs. They sent me a letter stating that they accepted one appeal for entering the station but for the pcn they sent me for leaving the station via the bus route they state initially that they reject it but then later in the pcn they state they let me off.... after having spoken to the council they advise that this was a clerical error as they were dealing with 2 tickets of mine and got the ticket numbers on the rejection letter mixed up...
  5. Sinage is there, just I did not know how to get around to the station, I explained this to the council and I think thats why they let me off on one of the tickets. However my question here is if I can get away with not paying the second as they initially state that they will not let me off but then a bit later they state that they do (although I think this is a clerical error and they mean the other ticket they issued) however as I have it in writing can I dispute the ticket/ or force the council to cancel it??
  6. Hi all... Well a big thank you for starters as I totally ignored a pcn from UKPC what ever their money grabbin name is... and nothing happened! However I went down to the station to drop someone off and went down the wrong way ( a bus lane ) and the council have sent me 2 PCNs one for entering the wrong way and one for exiting the wrong way... Great... Anywho I appealed to the Council to let me off one of the PCNs - which to my surprise they did, however on the other PCN they rejected the appeal but in the actuall letter they state and I quote... HTe area around the station entrance is clearly marked as a bus lane. There are signs on all approaches to the bus lane that access is only for bus taxix and cycles. Access to the drop off point is made via either Tudor Road or Greyfriars Road, when exiting the drop off motorists must turn right. Other vehicle must follow the directional signs. It is the motorists responsibility to abide by the signs when driving. I can therefore find no justification to cancel the above PCN -(this is for a PCN ending 52 as per the letter ref). However, discretion has been used to cancel PCN (same PCN number as one in this letters ref) on this occasion only and does not set a precedent for any future PCNs that may be issued. Now later on in the letter the following is stated... Your representation has been considered by this office in accordance with the requirement of the bus lane contraventions (Penalty Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement)(England) Regulatoins 2005, but after full consideration of the representations made and all other circumstances relating to the issue of PCN, I have to advise you that grounds for representation agains the PCN have not been establishied. Now I called the council and they advised I should appeal as there is obviously a typing mistake in this rejection letter... Does this mean they should let me off, should I not appeal and let the council take me to court? Or can someone here give me an idea on how I should word my appeal so that it gives the council no other way than to let me off completely... I do know I was in the wrong and I did advise the council I was not sure how to get to the drop off point other than via the bus lane... which is about 10-20mtrs long... so I guess they did take pitty on me and let me off on one of the PCNs - SO perhaps I should not push my luck?? let us know what you think

  8. Well it's been almost 6 months since my first post. In this time I have only received one letter from UKPCS and ignored it! Didn't bother contacting them once I was asked to payup, no letter sent to get them to prove I was the driver etc... Now I'm not sure if it is over at all but thought I'd keep the forum updated on what is going on... Kinda wonder when one can class this as done and dusted... Is there a law on how long they can keep hold of the bill and try to get one to pay it?
  9. Ok then... here we go... whats the worst that can happen... I have not responded to this letter and wont. I will just keep a file and keep all the bumpf they send and think of the poor trees that have suffered for no reason. Will keep the forum updated with whatever UKCPS sends... Would be good though if it would be possible to split the forum by Parking companies, just to compare what one is going through... and perhaps see a pattern evolve.
  10. Well UKCPS have started their paper chase.... I am now just hoping that all ends well... I do at times think to myself though - What if all the advise on this site is just them making us believe that we can get away with it to get the fee higher... Then again perhaps I'm thinking too much into it... I am going to take the advice of ignoring letters but keeping them, however, if they do get debt collectors involved should I not then get responding - not that they end up on my doorstep with some heavies....
  11. Ok then, this will be a new venture for me... I will sit and wait for the nasty letters (should they ever arrive as the details they have put on their online payment area are wrong... so hopefully they have not noticed the error and when it comes to contacting the DVLA they will get the wrong details - if any at all...) Should this go down the court path then I'll be in touch. At least I now know that the shopping center has a different area for parental parking, so I wont be using the disabled bays like we have been doing for the past 3 years. SO if I now get it I should just sit tight and ignore (but keep) all their correspondence - at what time should I reply to their mail - never?
  12. Too late for that, as I called them to find out why my ticket had not been put onto their system... Well it has now and I can say that the details on their system has an error on it, however the parking ticket shows details as should. The question I have is - if this is a [problem] why have these companies not cottoned on to the existing loophole and closed it? One more... inregards to now ignoring them - if they do end up sending court summons how do I build up a defence to something I have done... This is the reason I would not want to state that I was not the driver as I do not like to lie at all -
  13. sorry about this, but what are the stickies? also has anyone gone to court with ukcps? what tmplate letter is to be used if you admitted to be the driver...?
  14. Hello all... looks like a certain car park in Reading has changed their mind about doubeling up disabled carparking spaces with parental parking spaces and decided to use UKCPS ltd to do their dirty work... Any who, after having read some of the entries on this site it seems like one could make UKCPS work for their money... Unfortunately I'm of the honest type and do not wish to go down the " I wasnt driving" path - just incase it does go to court and makes me look a numpty when the judge asks who was driving... Also we have noticed that where we used to park there are signs up stating that parental bays are available elsewhere, however where we parked (which is just adjacent to the other bays) there was no sign.(we took pictures of this - not sure if it would help as the management stated that there are signs up all over the place about this and also there is one at the entrance - which is true however when driving up the parking ramp I tend to pay more attention to the driving than what signs are up) To be honest - I was about to pay but found that my details were not on the UKCPS ineternet payment system, and when I called them to find out when they were going to be put on I was asked specifics of the ticket... Luckily I cottoned on and stopped the conversation - why should I be giving them my money and tell them my details when they should already have them... Further to this I have now noticed that my parking ticket is on their system but the registration is wrong.... so should I now leave it or pay up and mention their error to them... I have always paid my fines (not that I have had many) but this time I thought I'd do some investigation before I pay and now I'm at 60% willingness to pay however the more I think of it the more I want to say stuff em! From some of the post I have noticed that Court summons were sent, however no one really has posted if they went to court and what the result was... - still got a few days before the £60 turns to £100... any advice would be greatly appreciated...
