  1. Thanks for that. I did plan to add a bit onto the letter but just wanted to check with some of you knowledgable people first.
  2. I sent my first request for refund of charges 2 weeks ago and am about to send my second. There has been 2 extra charges since I sent my first letter so can I add them onto this letter or would that just make me look like I don't know what I am doing? TIA Saffy
  3. Woohoo they are paying up! I received a letter today saying I will get back the £173 claimed plus my court fees of £39. The money should be in my account within 5 days. I am so pleased I can't stop grinning. Saffy.
  4. Fantastic news - I am just a few days behind you in my claim so I feel much more positive now
  5. I lodged my claim with the sherriff court last Monday and paid my £39 and today got my return date and hearing date. I am rather slightly scared (understatement of the year there!) in case I do need to go to court. I know I probably won't but knowing my luck they would choose to make an example of me or something.
  6. I got offered £65 which is about 50% of what I claimed and knocked it back. this happened a while ago and I have struggled to pay the £39 for a small claims court action but this will be happening now. My claim is now up to £173 as today they charged me £30 for going 87p overdrawn for half a day!! Fingers crossed this will work as I could be doing with that money.
  7. A month ago I sent a letter to the Halifax asking for 5 years statements (I am in Scotland) and enclosing a cheque for £10. They cashed the cheque and refunded £5 and sent statements for 6 years. Today I have been offered £69 which is 50% of my charges. This is not my main account so the amount is small. Thanks to this forum I am rejecting the amount and asked for ALL of MY money to be refunded or I will take them to court. Hopefully this will be enough for them to refund all the money because I really don't want to go to court - but I will if I have to. Its a tiny amount of money for them, but a lot for me so I hope they agree. Will let you know how I get on. Saffy.
