  1. Got a phone call today from Welcome saying that as I only have 11 more repayments to make, if I cleared the balance today, they would knock 10% off. I told her it wasn't worth it (I only owe about £1,100 now), so she then asked if I wanted to pay off more money each month to clear the balance sooner. She seemed quite desparate to get me to pay more than I currently do (about £100 a month).
  2. Great thread! What about accounts opened after the 6th April 2007? Mine was opened in November 2007. They have admitted that they cannot locate a signed agreement (and they never will because I never signed it), but they have said: "Turning now to your comment that in the absence of a signed credit agreement, a debt cannot be legally enforced. We maintain that we are entitled to ask a court to consider the evidence in any case, and make a judgement accordingly. We fully reserve our right to do this. The debt remainsenforecable with consent and we are not in a position to write this off. In conclusion I must inform you that we do not agree that you have grounds to dispute the account. This letter acts as our final response and I have enclose a copy of the Financial Ombudsman Service letter, which details how to contact them should you remain dissatisfied." If they don't have a signed agreement, then surely they cannot take me to court? Any advice welcome, as I'm not sure what to do next.
  3. Hi Everyone, Last month I contacted Equifax to say that the loan term on my credit report for Welcome was incorrect (it said 25 months when it should be 24) and that I wanted the false data removed. Welcome were quite quick to respond to Equifax and they amended the term to 24 months. Just looked at my credit report this morning and have noticed that Welcome have changed it back to 25 months! Have contacted Equifax again asking them to remove the data again. Has this happened to anyone else?
  4. Hi Cathy, The address you need to send your CCA request to is: Credit Reference Team Everyday Financial Solutions Aintree Innovation Centre Park Lane Netherton Liverpool L72 1LE Both Littlewoods and NDR are most definitely owned by the same parent company (Shop Direct). I know this because I work for Shop Direct.
  5. No problem alphageek. I'm well placed to help with any littlewoods questions if you catch my drift!
  6. Littlewoods, Kays, Littlewoods Direct, Marshall Ward, Empire, Choice, Additions Direct and Great Universal all have 28 day payment terms. In the autumn this year, Additions Direct, Littlewoods Direct and Marshall Ward will all change to calander month billing.
  7. Hi andie, I'm not sure, it's under 'other financial information' on the agreement. I've attached the relevant section of the agreement. Welcome agreement.xls
  8. Hi All, I've been reading this thread with interest for a while now, and was wondering if any one out there will be able to answer a question for me? I took out a loan with Welcome early last year, then in December I got another loan with them (which ended the other loan). Just received my CCA and statement of price from them (actually got them really easy compared to most people on here - just phoned them last week and said that they had never sent me a copy of my agreement when I took out the new loan, and they posted what look like faxed copies). Anyway, on the statement of price, it says that the monthly payment for the aceptance fee (which is £75 according to the credit agreement) is £4.36. The loan term is 24 months, so they are actually charging me £104.64 for the arrangement fee. I read somewhere earlier in this thread that they cannot charge interest on the acceptance fee (but can't seem to find the page now as this thread is huge!). Could some kind person please point me in the right direction? As if this loan is unenforceable due to them charging interest on the acceptance fee, then I am really keen to get the agreement cancelled ASAP. Thanks in advance everyone.
