  1. Yes yes yes, Santander - Abbey, 6-8 calls per day every day, 8 AM to 8.30Pm they are driving me nuts! Recently a member of their staff in my local brance has been prosecuted for setting up false accounts - are Santander obliged to enquire if I have noticed any 'strange goings' on with my account? No heard a peep from them whilst all this has been going on - until the guy has been prosecuted then they start writing, claiming letters I had sent had not been received - yet staff had informed me verbally that the letters had been received! The sooner I can get away from any dealings with Santander the better - though they seem to have fingers everywhere, Allience and leicester, edge card, bradford and bingly......god know where else...grrrrrrr:mad:
  2. Hi and thanks for your reply, unfortunately the money they took was not spare, it was infact my housing benefit to pay my rent in arrears as is the standard payment procedure by all benefits departments. I have explained this to them but to no avail, they simply do not understand that this money was spoken for. I have informed them that I will be evicted if I do not pay my rent - a manager is allegedly telephoning me today... I am unaware of any charges, this is the first time in 10 years or more that I have ever had to default on any payment. There must be some law against making someone homeless like this, I'll certainly be opening an alternative account and closing my Abbey account asap. I have learned a lot from the site already. Cheers.
  3. Hi all, sorry if this is posted on the wrong section - new to site. I have a loan with the Abbey and lost my job last July, I continued paying the instalments until recently, I asked them for help before defaulting but received no reply. I have spoken to them and informed them of my financial situation and today set up an agreement - at long last. But, on 24th March 09 they took £260 from my account without my permission or without informing me. I have yesterday and today tried to explain to them that the money they took is my rent money and that unless they refund it I will be evicted. They have told me to go overdrawn to pay my rent!! Can anyone advise on this please?
