  1. The plot thickens - i called First National this afternoon and spoke to a team leader - they say they sent letters out since september 08 - i said to the lady i have only recieved notification in Jan 09 - she was pleasent but didnt beleive me. I know people have a tendancy to lie about these things if they are in the wrong but why would i like about the number of letters i had recieved? Anyway the convo continued and she pointed out that i had missed August 08's DD payment now none of the letters say when the payment was missed from just there is an amount outstanding. Fair enough my mistake however it gets better.... i checked my bank details this evening and since the missed payment to present im STILL PAYING THEM the monthly amount. i couldnt beleive it ive been sent to a collection agency for an amount of £48 yet i continue to pay monthly - its madness! First National have sold the debt on and refuse to talk to me about it. Viking wont take the payment of £48 but want the full amount - how can this be? im still paying then as per normal - have i missed something? So as it stands i have to call Viking back tomorrow when hopefully they have spoken directly to First National to agree a new payment sechme - surely all that needs to be actioned is - TAKE THE BLOODY PAYMENT its not like i refuse to pay.... Part three tomorrow......
  2. I'll be sure to check it out - its like a constant battle with these people - sometimes i feel like just paying to ge them off my back - its so worrying. Thanks for the advise
  3. I need a bit of advice - Almost 5 yeahrs ago i bought a sofa though Harvey furnature store on credit though their partner company First National my payments are due to complete this them this Novemeber. In the mean time i moved house - telephone contact details remained unchanged. On another issue i asked my cold estate agents if there was any post at the previous property for me - turns on there are 2 letters from first national one in december 08 advising i'd missed a payment of £48 and the next in january 09 with a reminder. I called up first national who advised my 'case' had been passed to Viking collection services and had i recieved any letters. I explained i hadnt and i'd moved house. - this person did want to deal with me an gave me their contact details - I telephoned Viking who were so unhelpful - i explained about my house move and on top of that why had i not been telephoned at all about this? this was shrugged of and the guy asked me for full payment, i was shocked i said the letter only asks for £48 and thats what im willing to pay and sort out the DD with him - he said he cant take any payment he need to speak to first national - seriously all i want to do it pay December's and set up a new DD - As it stands i know have to call THEM back on Wednesday to see if thats approprate. Any ideas on this - iot all seems far fetched? i understand i missed a DD but no one wants my money Help - PurpleCrayon
  4. I see this is a bit of an old thread but i wanted to share my frustration with capstone – i telephoned up to make my usual monthly payment in December 08 only to be told on top of my monthly payment i own £300 (and pence) due to their miss allocation of a payment - their systems allocated two half payments instead of one. This occurrence happened on their systems exactly a year ago to my original call. I refused to pay unless a full statement was sent to me which to be fair they sent. I decided to raise an official complaint - they acknowledged this and offered £30 as a good will gesture - the next day i receive a letter with charges, £50 for not paying the outstanding balance of £300 even though my complaint was being dealt with a second complaint letter was sent to them asking how can you give someone a good will gesture and then take it away with the other hand? I wouldn’t mind but it was their mistake with the misallocation - now in my letter i did agree we owed the payment and we would make a minimal payment per month £30 which they refused and said i have to pay £64. This is outrageous - the people answering the phone never seem to agree with one another nor with the letters they send out – As it stands I am due to pay £64 per month on top of my regular payment however is there nothing in the law that advises over a certain amount of time either debt becomes void or has the levy towards a new payment plan case in our favour? – Stupidly im in a fixed contract until May however as soon as i can i will be moving - the customer service is not helpful and in fact i find them rude and unhelpful - i thought the main point if an occurrence happens is the mortgage company ate suppose to help their customers?
