  1. I've updated on another thread, but thanks for the advice guys. I have been in touch with the FSA and had advice re complaining. I am on my way to CAB tomorrow so wish me luck!
  2. For those of you that I asked last week I have called the CTF Helpline. There is no way HSBC can pay my debt using my daughters trust fund. However I am still making a complaint and also moving the trust fund to another bank. I know someone asked how to do it, but not sure who... all you need is the unique reference number of your CTF, call up a new bank and give them the details. Apparently it'll be moved over after they have posted out a few papers to sign!
  3. I haven't managed to get through yet so no update... however I am going to look into making a complaint as I am scared witless that they would even consider taking my childs money to pay of debt mysellf and my ex made!!! And to clarify, yes they did actually ask if they could take the money... but I am disgusted with even the suggestion!
  4. Sorry I didn't really explain that well lol... it makes me sound like a freeloader. Basically after my split with my ex I cancelled all my DDs from the account, but ex didn't cancel his. Just wanted to put this so no one thinks I am trying to get money I don't deserve lol
  5. Again, I'm no expert as I am having troubles with said bank... ours is in dispute due to separation so it might be completely different. Hopefully someone else on here with wider knowledge can help:confused:
  6. Thanks again Lula... I am off to call them now. Will update later!
  7. Thanks for that Lula... I wonder what they are playing at then as thats twice now they've asked to use that money!
  8. I hope they don't touch it in the time between now and next week. But I have made a note of the telephone conversation and also mentioned when I went in branch yesterday to pay my £4 in.
  9. I have a joint account with my x and is still overdrawn,. Now my query is that out formal OD is £500, yet they let our account go over to £1600. Now can this be challenged as we only signed for a £500 one?
  10. I wasn't aware I could move it after its set up. I thought with it being a government set thing that it had to stay wherever you invested it. I am seeing CAB on Weds, so will talk to them about moving it ASAP!
  11. I have to say HSBC seem to be good at this 'harrassment' issue. I have been keeping a diary as suggested on here and then I will write to them to tell them to communicate by letter only. Not really sure how you stand with a student account, but I would imagine that even if you pay a large sum of money to the account, they will probably notify you that you can't use the account anymore. Don't take my word for it, but they seem to be able to do whatever they want atm! Also another suggestion is to go down the Citizens Advice route and sort a payment plan, eke the payments out.
  12. Bank called me up yesterday chasing after my joint loan repayments, I said I can give you £4!! So they woman said 'oh I notice you have a considerable amount of money in your daughters Child Trust Fund... can we take a payment from that?'!!! Anyway I said absolutely not, but can they use that??
  13. Thanks, I have posted my letter to Simply Be this afternoon so fingers crossed all goes well!! I used the Lucina handwriting too:D
  14. Right I have a book to log them all, going to answer all calls from now on and see how it goes. The fact I live me my parents worries me though as the bank said the bailiffs won't care if its not my house, they can still cease the assets??
  15. Thank you for the advice, I have kept a call diary for the last 3 or so months. However, I do not answer every call, I have been noting down the times and dates of missed calls as I tend to only answer one a week lol. Would the missed calls count? Probably not I imagine...
  16. Thank you, what full date should I enter then? Should I give them a specific time limit? As for ex details, I went in to my local branch and they took his details then, but said they couldn't guarantee they will be accepted. I will definately write another letter to them though and send this telephone harrassment one. I would be interested to see how to approach them if they ignore the letter though, as Lisa said, they have ignored hers
  17. I was recommended to write a letter to my bank regarding the volume of calls they are making to me. I have a joint loan with my estranged husband. We have been separated for a number of months and he has not upheld his agreement of paying the debts while I raise our child and try to find work. As I said in a previous post the bank are calling me up to 4 times daily asking for me to make a payment. They don't have my husbands contact details and refuse to take them from me or my solicitor. Now I wouldn't say they are 'nice' calls but they are not verbally abusive... however the threat of bailiffs etc is starting to get me down. So can I really send them a harrassment letter? Also, my solicitor has written to them on two separate occasions to ask them to stop chasing the debt until the divorce is finalised, but they have gnored them too.
  18. I receive up to 4 calls a day from the number at the top of your list!! Its mad, I have my phone switched off most days now as it gets too much.
  19. I'm not even sure if this is in the right place as I am still trying to find my way around, but I asked about signing a request for a credit agreement to a catalogue yesterday. I was told to create a digital signature. Now I can find how to do it etc, but won't the company just respond with a request for a proper signed letter?? Please help!
  20. Thanks, I have a new account with a different bank now as I was advised by CAB. I have tried passing my husbands details on to the bank but they won't accept them as apparently they can only accept the change of details from him. My husband is leaving the country altogether later this year, so am pretty sure the debt will fall wholly on me!
  21. Thanks again... am in the process of creating my new signature! Yay!
  22. Thanks, I will need to learn to do one now!
  23. Should I sign the letter? I only ask as I don't want them duplicating my signature... perhaps thats me being over cautious...
  24. Thank you! Thats the one I was looking for!
