Parking in a shopping centre
andrewwallis replied to popsy's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
Hi Popsy, I have a good letter to send. I will scan it in tonight. I recently got the same sort of PCN. I challenged it and they sent it to a collections agency. When I phoned the ticketing company (G24 in this instance) the suddenly decided the photographic evidence was unreliable. I will post a copy of the original PCN. -

First National Motor Finance - A few Qs
andrewwallis replied to andrewwallis's topic in General Consumer Issues
Another thing while I remember. When they repossessed the car the first time, I paid the amount outstanding to get the car back and was left to retrieve the car myself from Leeds. (I live in London). This cost me the best part of £200 to get it shipped back. Any advice or views would be gratefully received. -
Can Anyone answer a few questions regarding Motor Finance. Quick overview I bought a new car in 1999 for £29995.00, paid £3000 deposit and £26995 from First National Motor Finance. I was paying approx £570 per month, occasionally late with a payment here or there. After about 20 months (I think) my circumstances changed and I could no longer afford the payments. I missed a few months and the car was repossessed. I borrowed the money off a relative to get the car returned (now damaged by the company who repossessed it) only to have it repossessed again 4 or 5 months down the line. It was then sold at Auction and I paid the remaining balance. I was told at the time by a friend in the motor trade that I could hand the car back after paying 50% of the agreed payments. The Finance company told me that I could not do this as the initial amount of credit was over £25000 and therefore not covered by the consumer credit act. Questions: 1. If the Consumer Credit Act only covers up to £25000 are there any other laws that cover higher amounts ? 2. Were the Finance company allowed to repossess my car even though I had made more than 1/3rd of the payments or is this specified in the CC act? 3. Im going to send the finance company a Data Protection Act request, can I ask for a copy of the finance contract as well as copies of statements. Thanks for any held offered.
