  1. Thanks for the replies, they are what I was hoping for Think I should get a letter off to the solicitors and inform them that I am in dispute with Scottish Power. I'll probably be back
  2. Hi, Can anyone offer any advice on this. I rencently moved house and when at my new address Scottish Power made an agreement with me (in writing) that I could pay off both a gas and electricity debt from my previous address at £10 per month each and duly sent me a payment card for each one. I have made these payments and they are both up to date. Recently without any warning they have passed these debts on to a debt collection agency and who have already tried to phone me several times. I sent an email to Scottish Power but in their reply they have ignored all my queries and request for information. Today I have received a letter from S C |Gray solicitors demanding the full gas debt be paid by the 20th December or else I will be taken to court. Can Scottish power just backtrack on an agreement that they have made with me for no reason? Thanks thebighill.
  3. Thank you for the replies so far, much appreciated. I will be contacted Scottish Power in the morning and also contacting the police and reporting Scotcall to the OFT. Feel sorry for my son as he gets worried easily so not a nice experience for him and his 13 year old brother. Thanks again, will keep you posted. Dave
  4. Hi Deb, The rep did NOT show my son any ID. After denying him entry, my son closed the front door and the rep then put the pre-printed letter in an envelope through the letterbox. I really want confirmation that Scotcall do NOT read meters as I think his actions are very very suspect. Thanks Dave
  5. Hi Pinky, Thanks for the quick reply but I don't think I phrased my query well enough. The rep didn't actually gain entry to the house as we have luckily instilled into our sons that they are never to let anyone in when we are not at home. My worry is what would he have done if my son had let him in and the fact that he was discussing the warrant with my 15 year old son. Dave
  6. A Scotcall rep called unannounced and with no prior letter. He asked my 15 year old son for me by name and after my son told him that I was not in he asked to come to read the gas meter. Is this normal practice from Scotcall? I am very annoyed with this rep as I don't think he had any right to be asking to come in and telling my son he was applying for a warrant to enter the house. Any comments/advice? Dave
  7. Hi Could anyone help with the above post thanks, also received notice that they are about to default my credit file. David
  8. Hi Can anybody point me to a letter template, that will smack marbles for phone harrassment, putting late payment entries on my credit report oh and still charging interest on my account that has been in dispute for a few months. thanks David
  9. Hello folks again, The Marbles saga continues and I'm now as well as getting numerous phone calls throughout the day during the week, they are now calling at 8.15am on sunday morning as well and have put late payment notices on my credit file as well. The funny thing is, I have another credit card which only has a £1,000 limit which is up to date with payments have informed me today that when the card runs out in June they will not reissue another one. I'm thinking it's time I take further action so any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks David
  10. Hello All, I have had an alert on my credit report that I am two payments late on what I think (judging by the amount) is my marbles card. However the note has been put on my file by Halifax Credit Card Services. I am confused as I didn't think Halifax had anything to do with Marbles. Any info or advice? Thanks in advance David
  11. Thanks pmw1971, I hadn't thought of that. Looks like I will be dusting off the typewriter again lol. Andrea: I get the impression that we have nothing to worry about at the moment as the ball is still in their court. Maybe some more nasty letters to come but I for one have been phonecall free for the past couple days. I think their next step will be some type of default notice as they seem to ignore the "in dispute" letters. Keep us posted. Dave
  12. Hi, I only got that letter last week but at the moment I do not have any intention of writing back to them as they state in the letter that they will not enter into any correspondence and I can't be arsed lol. Dave
  13. Hi, Your last letter is nearly the same as one I recently received. Here is a link to the advice I was given. Hope this is helpful. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/getting-out-debt/183530-do-i-have-leg.html Dave
  14. Thanks atwozee. I am going to read your link now. Dave
  15. Hi All, It has been a little while since I have been on and things seem to be hotting up with MBNA. I have had lots of phone calls even though I request each time that they write to me and as also requested in the "in dispute" notice I sent them. Got told off like I haven't been told off since I was a kid by some irate MBNA employee, some of the things she said lead me to believe that she may be reading the threads on this forum. Finally, I received this letter stating that the account was enforceable and they do not regard the account or obligation to repay the debt to be in dispute (see below attachment). Any opinions gratefully received. Thanks Dave mbna2.pdf
  16. Hi again, Is it usual for HFC to completely ignore an In Dispute notice? HFC received the notice on 30th Jan 2009 but seem to be totally ignoring it. They have sent me a letter of default and are still adding interest to the account. There is no mention of my dispute in any correspondence. Thanks in advance for any help. Dave
  17. Thanks very much for the info and on that I will send them an In Dispute notice tomorrow. Dave
  18. Thanks for the reply Atwozee. The particular section I am worried about is just above the signature where it states: "I have received a copy and agree to be bound by the MBNA Credit Card Terms and Conditions and I understand I am responsible for paying any balance due on my credit card account". Has this term got them covered? Dave
  19. Hi Please could somone look at this paragraph as I would like to go into dispute with MBNA as soon as possible as I am now in arrears with payments. Thanks in advance. Dave
  20. Financial & Related Conditions that were photocopied on the back of the application form: Thanks for any help. David mbna F&R.pdf
