Hi can anyone help I have a default from a couple of years ago from a credit card company capital 1. I did pay the debt off in a few months and recently wrote to them asking for my credit card charges back as I felt they were unfair as the guidance states. I asked if they would remove the default due to some of the unlawfull charges but they sent me a snotty letter back stating it will stay for the full six years. Does anyone know if I can challenge this default from 2006 as I am now contesting some of the charges from my closed account. many thanks John

Hi all again. I had a PPI up until about 5 months ago i had been paying it for seven years and didn't realise. When I did I was able to backdate a claim as I went into hospital last year for an op, I recieved a few hundred quid as i was off for a while. Can anyone tell me if I have made a claim on the PPI can I still try to claim it back as it was £36 a month, thats quite alot over that time span, can anyone advise me. Much appreciated. billybz

Hi everyone, I got into a spot of bother a few years ago when i had a number of defaults on various credit cards and even though I've paid them off I find it really hard to get credit unless it's at a high rate. After reading about being able to claim the extautionet charges various credit cards have got away with for years, I've dug out my old credit cards and I am going to write to them to see if I can claim charges back and with a bit of guidance from people who know the system better than myself I may even be able to get some defaults removed and repair my credit record. so any help and guidance would be much appreciated. The cards I used to have were Littlewoods visa but I cant find an address to write to them, Burtons store card default. associates visa card, citi visa, various capital One visa and mster cards,barclay card which I still have and halifax debit they charged me £30 for a bounced cheque as it went over my accont by £1.18 then they charged me for being overdrawn, when I wouldn't pay it after complaining they shut my account, so I am afraid I haven't ad much luck in the past with banks and credit cards. Just to confirm I did pay them all off fully apart from halifax and I pay all my bills through direct debit so they are never late now, but the damage is done so any help would be gratefully recieved.
