  1. Iim seriously considering paying their stupid fine!! Im not keeping very well at the moment and could do without the pressure and the fight. If id have been healthier it would be a different story
  2. I've asked the council for a higher council fence in the back garden, down both sides. The reason being that it's quite a rough area with rough neighbours and although the privacy and safety of a higher fence would be good its really not the main reason. Theres a few... There are CCTV cameras in the streets and the junkies/alkies have been using my garden as a kind of short cut without being seen by the cameras and for avoiding the police that are patrolling, they have left their needles, cans and bottle sin the garden too and often stop to urinate. Then theres the dogs, mostly strays but a few are the neighbours dogs on both sides. They freely jump in and out of the garden, leaving their mess behind and my son is terrifed of dogs! Then recently, someone moved into a neighbouring property and emptied anything they didnt want over my little fence and into the back garden. Even a double divan bed base and double matttress!! I heard and seen them doing it but i was too scared to say anything. By the time the police came round there was no one around. Does anyone know what the chances are of a higher fence being approved by the council on these grounds? Many thanks x
  3. I've read this thread a number of times now and theres conflicting advice. Maybe some of you who really do know your stuff could read my thread and make a reply, maybe a bit more in laymans terms? I've spoke to philips collections services yesterday AGAIN and was called back today. After speaking with a supervisor they have put my account on hold for 2 weeks until i contact the dvla and ask for a copy of the acknowledgement letter. But i doubt if i DO get a copy of an acknowledgement letter that it will state on it that i was the last registered keeper until the sale on 08/12/2008!!! Now what?
  4. Can any of you more knowledgeable people read my late licence penalty thread that i posted yesterday and give me some advice? Thanks in advance!!!
  5. Shameless bump!!! I passed on my phone number yesterday to Philips, the lady said it was incase we got cut off while we were talking and now i'm getting sms messages sent to my house phone!!! Can someone please help?
  6. This will be rather long but if someone could be take the time to read it and give me some advice i'd really appreciate it!! I left my last address at the end of 2008 and so had to sell my car. It was declared SORN and was in the driveaway. I was moving to a small house with no off road parking. I sold it shortly before i moved, filled out all the nessecary parts of the V5, photocopied it and sent it to the proper DVLA address the following day. I had a royal mail re-direction in place for about 12 months following my departure from my previos address. Anyway, 2 weeks ago my ex-landlady called my father (they are friends). She expalined that the new tenants had a call at the door from two men looking for me about a late licence penalty. They would not tell the tenant any other information apart from their phone number and a reference number relating to the penalty or fine for me. I phoned the number, quoted my reference number and was told i was speak to Philips Collection Services and that they had been passed a debt by the DVLA for a late licence that they had to collect from me. I'm assuming that since the date of the penalty/fine is dated 1st July 2009 and i've only heard about this (2 weeks ago) that the DVLA had sent the fine and all other correspondance to my previos address. Which i obviously did not get! I explained everything to Philips about selling the car, moving address and not knowing anything about a fine until finding out through a third party and consequently contacting them. They said that they are giving me two weeks to provide an acknowledgement letter (which i dont have as my redirection only covered my first name and surname and not my first name, middle name and surname as on the previous V5 document and would have been delivered to my previous address without being redirected) or i pay £80!! What can i do? And how can i resolve this? Many thanks in advance xx
  7. Firstly hello to everyone I got a CCJ back in 2005 and although i accepted the debt and had previously arranged with the company to pay it back by direct debit each month. I still mananged to get a CCJ. It's my own fault but at the time i had been kicked out of college, had to leave my parents home due to domestic abuse and was suffering with ddepression. I know i should have done more to prevent this from happening but i feel the people persuing my debt didnt help matters! Is there anything i can do to remove this CCJ? I'm still repaying the debt, and i know it stays on my file for 6 years, but is it 6 years from the start of the CCJ or 6 years after i have managed to repay the debt in full?
