  3. hi all being nosey here, just wondered who had been on DMP's and offered a full and final settlement to unsecured creditiors, what is the lowest percentage of the outstanding amount have any of you been able to pay?
  4. hi all sorry excuse me being abit dense here, but i want to cca barclaycard and am unsure of the address to send it to? do you just send it to the address on your statements or is the a particular one that you would have to go to? also i found a template for cca'ing them and i cant remember where it was. could some one point me in the right direction please thanks
  5. thanks monkeymad1, i will see if i can get my numbers removed, if not i was thinking about trying the "truecall" machine, are they as good as they sound?, mind you got to find the pennies for that first!
  6. hi all many thanks for your replies, i didn't think that payplan would be able to cca the card companies, but really just wondered if it would effect the DMP is i cca'd them seperatly from payplan? using Christian against Poverty doesn't really look like an option as it looks as if hubby would need to be involved and if he knew the full extent, he proberly would walk, hense trying to sort it myself:eek: also also i have heard that if you are paying a lower amount through payplan, that the card companies can and proberly will send you default letters and threaten to take you to court, if you have CCA'd them and they haven't as yet been able to produce the origional signed document, can and will they still try and take you to court? or is it something that could force thier hand in trying to prove that they have the origional signed agreement? can any one tell me, how much do you get in the way of phone calls and demanding letters from the credit card companies and loan companies whilst setting the DMP up and after its been set up? and also when you have a DMP with payplan, can you still CCA the cards? will cca'ing the cards make the companies refuse to let you have much lower payments and not freeze the interest charges sorry if it looks like i am repeating myself but dont think these questions have really been answered!
  7. hi all, after nearly having a heart attack whem i reliased how much i owed, i finally made the leap and contacted Payplan today and looks as if i will take up a DMP with them. I take it payplan are a good company to deal with? I have used another company (last year before i found this fourm) to cca lloyds for me and this is ongoing. can any one tell me, how much do you get in the way of phone calls and demanding letters from the credit card companies and loan companies whilst setting the DMP up and after its been set up? also, i was thinking about cca'ing barclaycard also, i have had a card with them since 1987. I owe about £40 k, 3 cards and one loan, i am desperate to get them sorted but hubby isn't awear of the total amount outstanding and i think he will walk if he knew the final amount, so really trying to not let him know. also when you have a DMP with payplan, can you still CCA the cards? will cca'ing the cards make the companies refuse to let you have much lower payments and not freeze the interest charges? any help or advise would be good please also i have heard that if you are paying a lower amount through payplan, that the card companies can and proberly will send you default letters and threaten to take you to court, if you have CCA'd them and they haven't as yet been able to produce the origional signed document, can and will they still try and take you to court? or is it something that could force thier hand in trying to prove that they have the origional signed agreement? thanks in advance
  8. WOW! fox, many thanks, i feel abit more confident now:) i would apprectate any helps you guys can give me, but i am blown away with the way you have spent your time to answer my thread many thanks again
  9. hi fox thanks for your response, so basically what you are saying is that they CANT send baliffs to my door to demand payment of any kind UNLESS, I have actually been to court and that it has been found against me? what happens is they send debt collectors? do they have a legal right to enter your house? how often will the company call and send threatning letters? are they very nasty? sorry i am being a wimp as i hate confrontations and really dont want the stress, but at the same time i would love to get this sorted sooner than later. if you dont pay the min payment to the cards, how soon do you start getting calls and letter? many thanks again
  10. hi all i have been a member and a lurker for sometime now:) and i find all the info fasinating, but i could really do with some advise please i have a lloyds tsb cc and it was taken out in 1985. before joining this forum i have gone through a company which deals with credit cards ~ i didn't pay a fortune but i wanted the security of using a company that knew what it was doing. so far i think they have been ok. i first instrusted them last nov (2008) and lloyds have been cca'd and sar'd etc, but i have just recieved a letter from the company saying that i have 2 options as lloyds have given no response as yet other than to say they dont have to supply the origional signed agreement, no paperwork, agreements anything!! option 1) carry on paying min payment and continue chasing for the sar and cca. option 2) stop paying and force lloyds to take legal action, so that the solicters/barresters can start legal action at their end. i have a payment plan in force with lloyds, (2nd one this yr) and pay a set fee each month, but lloyds have advised me that this will be the last one that they can set up for me and when it ends they will not set another one up:( hubby thinks i should do option 2, but i am a coward and hate the idea of threatning phone calls and letters, and dont really want baliffs or debt collection companies turning up on my doorrstep. i have a young child can any one advise on what normally happens when you stop making payments? or on anything else from my brief explanation thanks in advance
  11. have now added "not" to the above question, thanks for pointing that out:-)
  12. slick, you say "However, to get that, they need to produce your credit agreement !! ", so basically if they dont have the origional signed agreement, then they can not take you to court, is that right? sorry this is my first post, been a lurker for quite a while now, but extreamly interested in this
