  1. Thanks Tony P, will try and get my statement off the cafe owner this weekend and reply early next week with the statement.
  2. OK, I can get that no problem, I have the receipt all I need is a statement from him confirming that I had placed my order for my item which was not ready at the time and he asked me to return in the morning. My concern was that they would argue that in that case I was not actually loading - which is technically true but beyond my control.
  3. I doubt the cafe owner would cough up for my parking ticket, the purchase was only £20 in the first place. It may be the law but it seems bizarre that if you arrange to pick something up from a business and there is a problem with the item then at that point it becomes illegal to be parked! My intention was to be loading, when I was told that the food wasn't ready I promptly returned to my car and drove away. I don't know about the sign-age, I didn't see anything notifying me that CCTV cameras were recording.
  4. Although it seems its not relevant on this thread, I did find this in regards to loading / unloading... http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/businessandpartners/london-loading-unloading-code-of-practice.pdf
  5. Hi, Thanks in advance for any help, you guys have been a lot of help in the past. I received a PCN in the post today for 25 J - Parking in a loading place during restricted hours without loading. I had actually gone to pick up a bulk order for Hummus from Cafe Marrakech (don't ask) but it was not ready and I returned at 8:30am to pick it up as instructed by the Cafe owner, I was only in the Cafe a few minutes and was parked right outside it. I have a receipt for £20 worth of Hummus from the cafe if it is any help. My argument is that I was loading, or at least I thought I was, do I have grounds for appeal? This is where I was parked:
  6. They also have this in their T&Cs though: Does that make a difference, is it valid?
  7. Hi, I managed to Purchase an HP laptop for a very cheap price on their website - I did suspect it might have been an error as it was so cheap but they confirmed the order about 10 hours later and took payment too. About a week later I have received an e-mail saying that my order has been cancelled. See the e-mails below. I just wondered where I stood with my rights here. Looks like this one has been hand typed as it just says dear then uses my surname (no Mr in front) either, e.g - 'Dear Smith' Can anyone help? Kind Regards
  8. The problem is the car would have failed on the bulbs. I took it back for a retest after getting another mechanic to look at the problem. He took it all apart and found there was nothing wrong with the bushes, so he put it all back together again. He said he'd changed all the bulbs and checked everything else as well but it turns out that he'd forgotten to change one of the side lamps and they charged me £5 just to fit that at the MOT (I would have done it myself but I had to get my wife to take the car there). What is interesting is that they found nothing wrong with the Bushes or suspension even though no work was done so they were obviously trying to rip me off. It cost me 2 hours labour to get this imaginary fault checked! This MOT ended up costing me more than any I've ever had!
  9. Thanks - any chance you could point me in the right direction with what to do next. Also - I would really appreciate it if you would reply to my other thread about the PCN . Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi, I took this to another garage and got him to check the thing out - he took it all apart to make sure there was nothing wrong with the Bushes and the arms and he is certain that it should not have failed an MOT due to this. I have booked a retest for tomorrow morning, should I tell them I've had the work done or should I just tell them that I think they are trying to rip me off and get trading standards involved?
  11. I agree - I should have done it much earlier.
  12. Hi, Took my car for an MOT today and it failed on the following: The top 6 are very easily fixed, however they say I need new bushes (at the back I think) They have quoted me £350 to do this. It was a cheap £40 MOT and the retest is free - but I have heard of these places failing MOT's just to get bogus work done. Anyone have any advice? Should I take it to a council testing place to see if it passes after fixing the first 6 advices? Kind regards
  13. Just got a letter saying my rate has been decreased by 0.8% Still leaves me 1.3% above what I took the loan at when the Base rate was 5.5% Anyone else had this decrease?
  14. They finally got around to giving me the NtO in my name. Here it is:
  15. They finally got around to giving me the NtO in my name. Here it is: Sorry - the Internet was playing silly buggers with me - its all below now
  16. Last time I went to one of these the council didn't turn up - it was in Haymarket and the adjudicator was a nice guy. However it did take about 4 hours of my time including the traveling! Thanks for your help.
  17. Many thanks everyone. So I just fill out the Parking Adjudicator form with these points and I don't have to bother to contact the council again? Do I have to turn up for the hearing, or should my wife turn up (as she was the driver) ? Or do you think that we could get away without turning up at all and still win the case? Kind Regards
  18. Hi, I got a reply to this now. They claim that the ticket was handed to the driver (my wife) but she was adamant that he did not hand her or even try to hand her a PCN.
  19. It appears you are right, either Hertz didn't send that on to me or that TH didn't actually send to to them. I just spoke to their contact center and they say I have to speak to the appeals section but they are currently engaged. I don't know whether to appeal yet or not! They just gave me an e-mail address for the appeals section.
  20. Here is the final wide angle picture that wasn't showing for some reason with the tinypic links:
  21. I think that's it, one page, 2 sides. I think the only thing missing in the picture is a part of the Tower Hamlets Logo.
