I work for an energy company. All you have to do is contact whichever supplier you want to supply you and they will start the transfer from Npower. Npower can't really object unless there is a debt issue.

Just looking for some advice. Last year, July 2007, I took out an 18 month contract phone for myself with Orange. I also took one out for my partner at the time and put it in my name because he was under th age of 18. We are no longer together but still friends, however he hasn't been paying his bill for the last 3 months as he can't afford it. Because the contract is in my name I have now recieved 2 phone calls from Orange asking me for payment on his phone and I have twice explained the situation. They have told me that the case may go to a debt collection agency in a few weeks. I really don't want debt collectors coming to my door! Orange have told me I can change the account into his name when he turns 18 but that isn't until november! They have said there isn't much else they can do. I asked them if they could put off the debt collection procedure until november, but they said no. I find this quite unfair as for 1 it is his bank account details they have on his account so they can clearly see who is responsible. They also have his address. I have also never missed a payment on my own phone account. None of this seems to matter though!
