On the day we received initial letter my wife visited her mother and her sister and husband were there.He said his mother had received a phone call from cq saying she had 7 hours to pay her phone bill or she would be cut off.She pays by direct debit? What are they up to ?

And another thing Ms J simms (I assume Ms means minus a spine) what about adding a phone number to your letters? Still you lot aint far from pompey. :mad:

hi My wife received the same standard letter today. I like the way they ""thank you for trying to resolve this matter". Scuse me what about bailiffs, court enforcement, warrant of execution, impounded goods, etc etc etc.What about all the older frail people who receive this sort of bullying letter? How many people just pay up out of fear and probably dont owe a penny. Sounds like a nice little earner. I honestly thought it was a [problem] at first because of the huge amount of threat involved, so the first thing I did was a check on the company on the web. I did report them to consumer direct and had it logged as a possible criminal offence. If everybody does the same maybe they will pay them a visit. I am going to forward a copy of letter sent to us and explain my disgust in the way this company think they can treat people. :mad:

hello Reported capquest to consumer direct today they have given me a ref no and said it is logged as a possible criminal case.Told them I had sent off a letter to capquest about no knowledge of debt already. They said to keep them updated.

Hi This morning I phoned consumer direct regarding the letter my wife received about an unknown debt from 1993 and threats of court action within two days. I was given a reference number and it is logged as a possible criminal case. I phoned because of all the similar problems I had read about on this forum about capquest. I have already sent off the standard letter to capquest from this site but will use all ammo available.

capquest. Letter out of nowhere threatening court action within two days of receiving said letter for a debt dating back 15 years which we know nothing about.

Hi My wife had a letter yesterday sounds like its the same one you have. They are passing on to solicitors on 1/4/08 blah blah blah.I have sent the letter off posted above regarding legal side and will wait to see what occurs. Oh the sum supposedly owed £71.61p from 1993.

hi mmm interesting. My wife did phone them initially and was told to write to a kevin arnold. I notice the number is 0870. if you go to SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers top left of page click on search for alternative number, type in company name and you will get a whole list of numbers available. Myself after reading various threads I will stick to letters. Will keep you updated on what happens.

hi all, My wife had a very heavy letter today from capquest threatening legal action as from 1st April . The amount owed £71 dating from 1993 littlewoods catalogue. Thing is she hasn't ever had a catalogue.So I went straight on the net found this sight and lots of other people with similar case.Ive posted off the letter posted on here stating all the legal jargon,so hopefully that should be the end of it?
