  1. I executed a warrant through the Courts to get monies owing to me from a Car dealer. The dealer has not answered any correspondance from me or the Courts, and i have won the case by default. The Ballifs went in and then informed me the dealer had dissolved so they could not get the goods to help pay back my money. I have since discovered the Dealer has not dissolved, but moved and also goes under many different company names. Only one of his companies and not the one i'm claiming from has in fact dissolved. He is well known by trading standards and the police for being ever so slightly corrupt and heavy handed when he wants. Does anyone know where i now stand or should i re-issue the warrant to his new address which is registered on the Companies House list. I can not let this Dealer get away with this and will hopefully show him the Consumers CAN fight back.
  2. Wow. Please tell me your taking the p#*s. £3000 would do me fine for a car. This would allow both my wife and i to get better jobs which are miles from where we live and the public transport is pathetic. Scrub that, i'm British! No chance.
  3. May be worth checking the "Distance Selling Regs". Contact Traiding Standards. They are a excellent sourse of advice.
  4. They cashed the cheque within days of recieving it. It was a holding cheque pending my inspection. He cashed it without my permission, but this was only a verbal argeement. The car was not as described and he would not refund the monies. The police were not interested as i believed he was commiting a crime under section 2 of the fraud act. They said its a civil matter, even though the picture of the car was not the one on sale. I've just found out the company goes by other names with the same Director as the one i want my money from. Will this help me?
  5. By the way, its a limited company. This is probably a bad thing! Tell me its not?
  6. Thanks both for your helpful and honest replies. Deep inside i know i've probably lost the money, but i can't let this man rip me off. I would quite happily spend a million to get my thousand back, just to show this prat he can't just scew people over. It seems its always the innocent party that has to do all the work. I will try whats been said and would appriciate any other info. Thanks again David
  7. Please help. After a Dealership refused to return a holding cheque i sent on a car that was not as described, i started the long and expensive proccess of getting my money back through the Courts. It has been relativaly simple, and up until yesterday, i was on a high waiting for the Baliffs to finally do their job and eventually get my money back. I was devastated to be told the company is now dissolved and the baliffs can do no more. I am at my wits end and my marriage is suffering because of stress over the last few months. Does anyone know of any way i can continue to try and get my money/cheque back. i really can't afford to back down now. Regards.
