  1. Hi all, Had to change the 4th injector on my mondeo TDCI 03 a few months go. Been fine since then ( see earlier post ). Then yesterday car would not start. Left it till today, managed to fire it up. Took it to ford and they said that it has a split pipe on intercooler. They also "think" that injectors 3 and 4 are faulty. I DO NOT have the flashing glow plug this time. Car seems to miss at about 40 - 60 mph and fuel consumption is poor, about 30mpg !!! FORD want 112 pound to change the pipe. They tell me there are no error codes and had to do a leak test on the injectors. Injectors were ok on 5 mins test but on start up one injector puts in not enough fuel, the other to much. Also said they want to change all 4 even though other 2 not showing any errors!!!! Are thet talking total s""t and could the split pipe cause this ?? They want 800 pound for 2 injectors !!!!! DROVE car away to think about next move. Not bad with ony 2 injectors. Any help please especially any good diesel specialists in Swindon area. Cheers Rob
  2. Finally sorted !!! Turned out that the mechanic who changed the injector did not program it correctly. £136 later and FORD got it sorted. Car now back to normal. Cost around £500 in all !! Hopefully it will last. Thanks to all that helped especially Hammy for his assistance. Happy motoring.!!!
  3. I am in work so not sure how he programmed it. He tells me there are no error codes stored but the glow plug light is still flashing. When this initially happened I could not go above 70mph. Wife just took it out and got 95 out of it. She said it sounds rough and seems to have no guts. If he did program it wrong then how is it starting now where before he done anything it would not even start. I changed the Cam shaft position sensor last week but still have the old one. Could it be this ??? Thanks for your help.
  4. The guy changed it and programmed it. He had all the gear to do it. Problem is the car now starts so there must have been something wrong with injector. BUT... He tells me the car is still not running right but it sometimes takes time to let the injector settle down. Is his advice right ???? Plus the glow plug light is still flashing. This could be an expensive mistake i think !!!!
  5. Hi, Is a special tool needed to remove the injectors. I have a guy coming out to change one and said price could alter if they do not come out correctly. I dont want to incur more cost !!!! Thanks
  6. Hi, Changed cam sensor - still the same. Needed car urgently so had to take it to FORD. They have diagnosed a faulty number 4 injector. Total price £460. Is this expensive ???? Anyone know anywhere near Swindon who can get these replaced and re-programmed ???? Cheers
  7. Hi, Merry Christmas to you all. Got an Mondeo 2ltr 03 TDCI, and on way to work this morning lost some power and got the dreaded glow plug flashing. The car would not go over 70mph. Got a mate to run some diagnostics and initially he could not get his pc to connect. He eventually got it to but it showed no codes. Not sure if he done it correct though ??? I have tried the ometer system and this also shows no error codes. The car will now not start at all. I have got it booked into Ford this Friday. Is it worth changing the camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position sensors first. Ford want to charge me £99 for the diagnostic. !!! Any help appreciated, Just what you want on Christmas eve!!!!!
