  2. I've told the sales lady that I want their rsponse in writing for consideration, I also asked about my refund/rebate. She then went away and left me hold and came back and said she had to go talk to someone else.

I said I want something in writing, I feel like it is all a con. She said I sigened the loan agreement, I pointed out that the accompanying letter led me to understand that the PPI was not included, I also pointed out that there was only 1 box to sign so I did not sign serperatly for the PPI.

Where do I stand on any of this. I'm not sure what to do next.

    TIA

    B

  3. Hi,

I used to work for the Northern Rock and was one of the guys who used to sell PPI. Basically it's the biggest con since company pensions.

If you took your loan out through a branch I would write to:

Aidan Heslop (Operational Director, Branch Sales)

    Northern Rock Plc

    Nortern Rock House

    Gosforth

    Tyne and Wear

    NE3 4PL

If you took it out over the phone or online you would best write to: either David Baker (Chief Operating Officer) or Adam Applegarth (Chief Executive) at the same address.

Basically this is Northern Rock's policy it is there to make it as difficult as possible for you to cancell your ppi because it is so profitable to them.

The only way to get through this one is to commence legal action claiming the policy was missold because they are at it all the time. Make sure it was mis sold first of all before going down this route. They will bombard you with their corporate drivel which you will not understand but when you challenge them they will eventually back down.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN MIS-SOLD PPI BY NORTHERN ROCK PLEASE CONTACT ME BECAUSE I CAN PROVIDE SOME VERY STRONG EVIDENCE TO BACK YOU UP WITH REGARDS TO MIS-SELLING. IF WE GET ENOUGH PEOPLE ON BOARD I WILL BE PREPARED TO MAKE A STATEMENT TO THE OFT.

really interesting, thanks for the info, I'm in the process of trying to cancel at the moment and am having hassle.

I don't know if I have been mis-sold, however I don't remember much at all.

  4. gosh have I left it that long, that's what having children does to you!

Got my paperwork here and spreadsheet to hand, planning on preping tonight and posting intial request in the morning. Look forard to letting you all know how it goes.

    :D

  5. I was thinking about the payments not reducing, does that mean that they will not take off the amount of the PPI? The cost of the PPI is serperate to the loan, so I'm paying interest on the loan and the PPI. So if I ask for a refund then does that efectively mean that I'm still paying the cost of the PPI IYKWIM

    ie loan cost

    PPI Cost

    total loan cost

So if I got a refund and the policy was cancelled would that not mean

I would be left with just loan and interest cost?

    TIA

  6. Woohooo

just been on my hands and knees wading through my box of documents! I knew I didn't throw important stuff away

    Found 2 interesting notes

    1) The cover and benefit will end if any of the following happens

Your credit agreement is 3 months in arrears

It does not say that I cannot cancel, it says I'm entitled to a part refund if I cancel.

So all I need to do now is write and cancel the PPI

Ian, is there a copy on this forum of a template used? Or has it gone with all the other template letters now

    Phew

feel better now as their leaflet does not say that it cannot be cancelled

pokes tongue out at NR with fingers crossed

  7. Thanks for your reply Ian

I'm furious with NR and Pinnacle.

I've never been told that the policy was something that I wasn't able to cancel, the copy of the doc I have is very difficult to read, and the small print couldn't be any smaller.

NR are sticking to their postion that I have to re-schedule the loan to "cancel" the PPI. But in my current position I'm not even sure that I would be accepted. I suppose that is one approach.

Surely I have the right to cancel the PPI even if it is a single Premium policy? At this moment until I get the policy document I can't really do much.

NR are not being at all helpful, I can't even get through to the correct department, it's always someone in the wrong dept that doesn't know the answers and can't put me through to the correct dept.

At the moment I'm worried I'm stuck with this PPI

    Still fighting though

    Bea

  8. Hi, excuse me if I ramble but I have a tweenie around the house.

I took a loan out with NR and didn't check the form that got back. Basically I was pg and had a mc around the time the forms came back and was not really myself.

Anyway I'm 1 year into a DMP and have been getting my financial affairs in order. I was horrified to see that I had signed the loan agreement form which included PPI

The form is wrongly dated, wrong year on, is this a valid reason for getting this cancelled, is there any other way I can get the PPI agreement cancelled? The loan is into it's 3rd year.

    Many Thanks

    Bea

  9. recieved an offer form them today for less than half the amount.

    They say

"Putting the above to one side as a goodwill gesture and without any admission of liability, I am prepared to credit your account with the difference between the charges that you have incurred and the £12 fee recomended by the OFT. This would amount to £144. This adjustment will be confirmed on your next statement. "

  10. Oh dear, life has intervened with this claim. I've now bullied the hubby to help with this. Just finished final bits for Halifax so am now going to work out what Capital One owe me.

The spreadsheet is rather daunting, so alongside the amounts they charge me I enter in the cost of the interest and the card balance too, is that correct?

    TIA

    very tired, GB

  11. I've a DMP with the CCCS and have found them very helpful, its a shame that the banks are so slow in responding to attempts to solve any problems, be prepared for letters even after you have written/telephoned them to tell them of your situation. Banks are obtuse when it comes to you communicating with them.

    All the best

  12. Feeling really uptight about this now, can't find the reason for adding the 8% interest when you claim this. What reason do I out on my form for adding the 8% now.

    Thanks, for any help.

I am wanting to do the Moneyclaim for as per the templates library, gone through the templates library again, about the step by step, do I just now claim via small claim court and not contact them now?

Also, what do I do about their offer? Do I accept or decline?

    Many Thanks
