  1. I think the only thing that changes is that they know what the person ignoring them looks like... still isn't enforceable by law... but I'm just going off what I've read up on the last day.
  2. I like that idea... I could also just duplicate their threatening letters, switching out my details for their details, but replace all parking fine references for a "stupidity fine"...
  3. Yeah, thanks... they just managed to get me on the dvla mid-transfer of details, luckily! I do have a redirect too for next 9 months still so I should be able to get the next few letters from them, for fun. I had heard a while ago that these sorts of notices were un-enforceable (watchdog I think), but I never imagined people like moto and b&q, who survive because of their customers ability to drive/park, would hire such a sham of a company... stupidly I didn't think to check parkingeye's reputation online before even acknoledging their letter.... sigh... might as well follow it through tho. @Lamma - yeah, I did consider not even bothering with the letter, but I'm so annoyed by them I am quite interested to see how far they will push, and I get to do all this knowing that bailiffs won't even set foot in my front garden, since they have the completely wrong address anyway, not that they would get more than a door slamming in their face if they did find the new one! @all - I feel alot better after reading through some of the posts on here, definately alot more confident now that I'm not going to end up with ccj's etc (yes, they were mentioned over the phone!?)... this is a really useful site, so thanks.
  4. Has anything else happened since you got the notices, have they given up?? I got one of these notices from Parking Eye in January... knowing it was a mistake with their number plate system (seen me going in one day, coming out another, assumed I'd been there 20 hours?!) I rang them to let them know they'd made a mistake, and to check their video, they would see me leaving 2 minutes after entering each time (drive through coffee from McDonalds in moto services). But no - they took up until yesterday to send me another letter, saying I now owe them £50 more than before, and it's non-negotiable.. I rang their line to have a go, and got into an arguement with the rude woman on the phone about it, who said I could always write in with evidence. Tomorrow I'm sending them a letter, with 2 witness statements and some video footage of my car in the company carpark from the time they claim to have had me in their carpark (I work for a security camera company ironically, so the video evidence is time-stamped and archived!!), sending a duplicate letter to moto and mcdonalds, letting them know I've bought a coffee machine and thermos for £100 instead of paying a bogus fine, so they've lost custom)... the letter is going to be closing with how I will happily go to court over this, and watchdog, but I won't be replying or responding to anything less than a court summons after this letter, bar an apology. Does anybody see any problem with this reply? I know it sounds like alot of effort, but if I don't do it I know it will annoy me everyday until the debt collection agencies give up... hilariously, they are still sending these letters to my old address, which I moved from 3 months ago!
  5. Also forgot to mention - in the last week I've had a flood of new junk mail offering me loans, todays was a classic - from a company I had never heard of offering me, wait for it, £300!!!! Wow, and that's only £9 a week... amazing... but it gets better... the APR was 109%!!!!! WTF?! Only started once I got my credit through CarCraft. Not happy one bit with that one, I deliberatly keep off radars of junk mailers by opting out of everything. Now I'm gonna have to request from all these companies who sold them my details... when it gets back to carcraft thats another thing I'm gonna have them for!!
  6. I registered just to add something to this. I bought a car from CarCraft last week - love the car, but they tried to take me for a ride several times on the credit. We moved house last month, and our last house had a dodgy tennant about 6 months before so our credit took a little bashing - but after checking my credit score I'm actually alright - 4 out of 5 stars currently. If you go to checkmyfile - Credit reference, Credit file, Credit score, Rating they get your credit files off the 3 major agencies (experian, equifax and callcredit) - it's cheaper than the online system for each of them individually, but for all 3!! Anyways - checking that, I'm alright... and I am... Im on good salary, and a week before I got offered 4.5% for car finance with Vauxhall - so I was confident the low rate I got the sales guy down to would be fine.... but no... I got a call back saying I was declined by the prime lenders and that I will have to up my payments by £100 a month to cover an APR of nearly 30%!! When I laughed and told them to stick it, they knocked enough money off my 07 Focus Zetec that it covered the unbelievably high APR cost, so I'm basically paying the same... but they are covering the APR costs... but I'm disgusted to think they didn't even try the prime lenders in the first place. I will be checking all my files this month with interest, if I only find one check and it is with their dodgy Credit Plus people (who had the same hold music as CarCraft - a coincidence? I think not!!) then I will be kicking off with them big time!! GRRrrrrrrr.
