  1. Spoke to HSBC today on the telephone. They informed me that a letter was in the post offering me £1489.20 in full and final settlement (I was claiming for £1800). I will be accepting this offer. This offer comes just over 6 weeks after I posted the first letter claiming charges. If you are prepared to accept less than your full claim, then waiting within the 8 weeks quoted, is well worth it.. Lets just see how quickly they put it into my bank account!!
  2. Hi again AdamsDad, I looked through some of my old statements to see if I had any of these "monthly O/D charges, because I have not claimed for any. Sure enough I spent ten minutes going through them and found 4 straight away. They always came out on or about the 24th of the month, but not every month. I would say that these are default charges and a reclaimable, but it would be nice to get this confirmed so we can claim them prior to court action. So it is nice to talk, you've found me another £100 in 10 mins. Cheers! If I go through all my statements I bet there are a few more. Hopefully someone can clear this up for us. Off to work now speak to you later. N£m£sis.
  3. Hi AdamsDad, Welcome to the forum. Yes you can claim back the "Paid item charge" and you can claim back the "Unauthorised overdraft charge" of £25. I am roughly at the same stage as you, having just received a letter making me an offer of about 25% of my claim. I am rufusing it and am going to court stage next. If I can be of any help I will, but there are dozens of really helpful people on this site who are just as sick of the A&L as us. Keep on fighting. Good luck. N£m£sis.
  4. Hello - anyone got any advice for Chris and I???
  5. Hello Chris, We seem to be at a similar point, so I thought I would jump on this thread. I sent A&L the letter requesting £5300 on 15/06, received reply on 20/06 stating that the charges were correct - so there. Sent them second request LBA on 25/06 for charges + interest. Received a letter today dated 02/07, thanking me for the letter; they are looking into it and will get back to me asap. I gave the A&L 14 days on the 25/06, they have replied in 7 days. Is there any prospect of them doing anything to resolve this claim, or is this a standard 'stalling' letter to delay any court action against them? Would I be better just waiting the 14 days then starting action via MCOL? This is my first claim so I am a bit green. Thanks N£m£sis.
  6. Fantastic news for everybody. Hats off to MSE and CAG, you've played an absolute blinder! N£mEsis.
