  1. I haven't asked for the CCA, but you might be interested to know that having submitted my claim through MCOL I have had an acknowledgement and they say that they intend to defend the claim.
  2. Your advice would be appreciated on this one... Citibank recently refunded my penalty charges in full and very quickly, however on checking my credit file I now find that they placed a default against my name at the time the charges were incurred. The account was placed in default because it was £85.00 over the agreed overdraft limit at the time. Subsequently, Citibank have refunded £275.00 in unfair charges. The default shows as being settled as the full overdrawn amount was repaid and cleared 2 years ago. Can I now ask for this default to be removed to restore my credit status and if so how do I go about this?? Thanks
  3. I used the English Head Office at 1 Princes Street in London so it will be interesting to see if one address is quicker or more effective than other. The main reason being that it is close to where I work so it would be quite satisfying to see the bailiffs go in but I doubt that it will come to that!
  4. Looking through this site it seems that MINT's standard practice is to offer the difference between £20 charges and their new charge of £12.00 They appear to ignore lower charges (I had a couple of £10.00 charges). They do not budge if you reject their offer and also do not change their offer after a LBA. There are two of us now on this forum that have just started court claims so it will be interesting to see how they react.
  5. According to the MCOL website my claim has been accepted and issued against RBoS so now they have 14 days to do something.
  6. Me too via MCOL. According to the MCOL website it has been accepted and has been issued against RBoS so it will be interesting to see what happens over the next 14 days. BTW which RBoS address did you use on the claim?
  7. Well, I have submitted my claim via MCOL this afternoon
  8. I'm a bit confused about what interest to add to my court claim. Could some one please advise?? -Initially I simply asked MINT for the charges to be repaid without any interest. -Can I at this stage now add contractual interest and compound it (I was going to use 16.9% which others seem to have used)? -The account was closed a couple of years ago so do I calculate up to the closure date or up to today? -After calculating this, can I then also add the 8% statutory interest? Your words of wisdom would be appreciated!
  9. Hi Bob Well done! I am about to submit the MCOL and would appreciate knowing what wording you used on the claim? Thanks
  10. Hi Colpac Have you submitted the MCOL yet? I have sent the LBA having rejected their repeated offer. If so I would be interested to see the wording used and any response. Good luck

  12. I got the same letter from MINT and I am about to put together the MCOL claim.
  13. Hi Wednesday MINT charged me £10 for the statement copies and when I requested repayment got the same initial offer i.e. the difference between the old and new charges which is about a third of my claim. I rejected this and sent the Letter Before Action. They replied on the deadline day to say that their offer was unchanged. I am now going down the MCOL route. Good luck!
  14. I used the Customer Services Dept which is: Cards Customer Services PO Box 6050 Southend on Sea SS99 1WL They replied reasonably quickly but from my experience so far (and that of others looking through this site) is that they initially offer to repay the difference between their old charges and the new £12.00 charge, so this will equate to an offer to pay back about one third of your claim. I rejected this offer and then sent the Letter Before Action which came back with the same offer. I am now about to submit a claim through MCOL. It would guess that you will automatically get the same first offer that I and others have had, but I have not seen any how MINT (RBoS) have reacted once a claim to the coursts has been submitted; any links would be appreciated!
  15. Which address should I use for MCOL? So far I have been writing to Customer Services in Southend? Thanks
  16. Hi You might be interested to hear about my experience with Citibank. I had an account with Citibank which I closed a couple of years ago. I asked for copies of the statements which arrived within a week of them receiving my cheque (only charged me £5). The charges added up to nearly £400 which I asked to be repaid. Four days later I had a letter offering to credit my account the full amount claimed! I explained that as I no longer banked with them I would prefer a cheque which arrived a couple of days later. From start to finish no more than three weeks and incredibly painless! I wish Natwest were the same!!
  17. Hi I claimed a repayment of charges which came to £220 and have been offered £80. I have rejected this and sent the Letter Before Action which produced the same offer of £80. I am now about to start the Money Claim Online process. Can any of you tell me how they have got on at this stage and beyond? I would be very surprised if RBS would contest the case given the small amount. Thanks
