  2. HI, I hope someone can give me some urgent advice. I am curently on materniry leave, but have been advised I am at risk of redundancy. We are just about to start the consultation process and there is more than 20 of us.. Now my interpretation of the law is this... If a redundancy situation arises at any stage during an employee's maternity leave, you may not be able to continue to employ her under her existing contract of employment. In these circumstances, you must offer her (before that contract ends) a suitable alternative vacancy, where one is available. This includes a vacancy with an associated employer or with a successor to the original employer. The new job must start immediately after the end of the original one and must: · be suitable and appropriate for her to do, and · have terms and conditions that are not substantially less favourable to her than if she had continued to be employed under the original contract Now, a position has been advertised for a role below mine but I could adequately do the job. I have been told that I can apply for it and be interviewed and if I was successful I would have to take £10-£15K pay cut. As I read the law I shouldn’t have to be interviewed I should be offered it? I don’t know whether to go and have the interview as there is no way I can accept a cut of that amount..but if they appoint someone else regardless of whether I have an interview or not or even if i was offered the job and declined it I have a case for unfair dismissal? Will going for the interview and declining the job ( if I'm offered it) or choosing not to be interviewed cause a problem if I need to make a claim later on for unfair dismissal.. I have to decide today as last chance for the interview is tomorrow. Thanks Lisa
  3. Hi All, I have been reading the posts and well done to those who have succeeded and keep at um to the rest of you. You have given me courage to pursue my own owed charges. I have all our bank statement to day 1 so I have been able to add up all the charges. Mine £551.50 & hubby's £401.50. As I have an overdraft how can I work out the additional interest we paid because of these charges or is it actually worth bothering with and cut that bit out of the letter? Also sorry I'm a bit confusded Should I send the letter before action or the preliminary approach for repayment? Do I send this to a local branch or to h/o in London. Any advise would be gratefully recieved. thanks Lisa Have many of you had your accounts closed by abbey?
