Can anyone shed any light on authorised and unauthorised debit interest calculation please. I'm trying to calculate how much of the debit interest to add onto the litigation amount where it is associated with a penalty charge. I have a Lloyds business current account, which at the time of the statement clearly shows a Nil overdraft limit. so we have 1st Sept 05 561.95 OD 5th Sept 05 596.41 OD 6th Sept 05 622.45 OD 7th Sept 05 198.26 OD Band A overdraft 0.95% pm Unauthorised overdraft 2.20% pm Their period is 10th Aug - 09 Sept - there are no other overdrawn periods in the charge period. Gives according to their calculations; Authorised £1.60 Unauthorised £2.10 Total debit interest £3.70 Is this them actually saying that despite you not having an overdraft facility agreed ther is in fact an unofficial one within which you only pay lower levels of interest? As a matter of interest does anyone know if any other bank cases have appeared subsequently at Birmingham County Court, either with this judge or another, and if so what was the outcome? I put my first two, smallish, claims in the previous friday, and am now naturally a bit concerned about the other three I want to submit.
