  1. i have a hsbc account with a student overdraft of 1500. which they regulary allow me to go over. to clarify i can go into a shop put through some food for £20 and it will go through even if i am already as i once was £1843 overdrawn which meant i would now be £363 pounds o/d. however they wont let me take cash out of a cash machine. i have never been charged for this or wrote to or called. my friend same age same o/d same bank hsbc does get called the only difference is i am working and money is constantly going in and out of the account where as his account can go 3 - 4 months without any payments in. neither of us have been subject to any charges
  2. the dead pixel thing is weird. for home use some dead pixels are acceptable. only military and hospital use cannot have any dead pixels and would be entitled to a new screen
  3. bet they can this is just a fob off on the phone. yeah ring when they get applied lol. really from working in call centers that one annoys me more than the customer
  4. also i know its pretty certain that people will get charges back but its not 100%. after reading alot of posts on this forum i am worried that people are relying on these charges to pay of debts something thats a bad idea in my opinion
  5. barman. / student people claim the dole and spend it in the pub i work so effectively i am self employed my taxes pay my wages . 2 minds do you agree that how you are treated by a bank is entirely dependant on which person you speak to. some people have no common sense
  6. alot of fault goes on the fact that most of these fees etc no longer require human interaction. a person not paying 50p then getting levied with a £20 charge is stupid but a computer works on true false logic and there is no maybe
  7. if your talking about tesco credit card you will find you speak to exactly the same people that you would with rbs, natwest etc
  8. on my advice be careful what you post in here and also take advice from your union. also are the charges in total worth risking your job over? i'm not saying you shouldnt claim just if you did and lost your job over it you'd also have the problem of having to explain to a new employer why you left your old job. so you could end up out of work and in a financial mess somewhere you dont want to be
  9. edited my posts as i dont think you got my point. the charges are excessive i dont disagree with this. what i'm trying to say is people who get these fees should instead of moaning about them review there own finances and see why they are overspending each month. do they really need that new pair of shoes etc. not the same subject but i work in a bar and i pay tax. now some people who come into the bar are claiming the dole (dont know its pc title and too lazy to google) they smoke all the time there in the pub and sink 8 pints ish of stella. my taxes are paying for these people to pay my wages? (side point but interesting) but majority of these people tell me they have money problems and i have actually challanged them at times why are they spending there money on fags and booze and not solving there problems. for all your information i am a student but i work about 20 hours a week in a bar simply to gain cash to afford to go out (my loan covers my rent and fees) my credit card is mainly used if i'm waiting for my wages or i have something that urgently i need cash for or to buy. my limit is 4k (i know i done well as a student) of which i never use more than 500 as this is all i can afford to pay off in one go if i ever needed to. perhaps aswell as wishing people good luck on getting there fees back people should be encouraging them to think and manage there accounts better so they recieve no more fees
