  1. just to let you know i am using the ombudsman complaints procedure. i too am unsure of why others are'nt and am very interested to find out if there is a reason for this. i will carry on as i am for now and whatever i find out along the way i will post back to you on this thread for you if you are still interested. if you find out anything more about this route i would be greatful if you too let me know. thanks and good luck with your claim
  2. hello all, i am a a newcomer to this site. just wanted to introduce myself as i begin an epic battle with natwest tomorrow and i imagine i shall be on here quite often with questions and hopefully one day advice!!!! one thing i would like to mention straight away is that after having a look at the ombodsman wedsite and at their guide to bank charge claims i found out that they can provide you with the contact details of who you need to complain to at any bank. The ombudswoman i spoke to also offered to register my complaint which means that they, themselves, contact the bank for you and inform them of your complaint. They say this can sometimes hurry the process along, and will certainly stop banks from stalling by having 'not recieved the letter'. .....im sure y'all know this already. The other thing about the ombudsman is that they said they would absolutely not support claims which are more than 6 years old as it is the legal amount of time in which you have to complain.... sound about right? .... if not then i am eager to look into it. (i have already read the bulletin about claiming over 6 yrs) if this is so then is this the same act (DPA) that states the law that data controllers have to keep records for a minimum of 6 years? sounded to me like it relates to that law but is seperate in the fact that it applies to consumer rights to complaint. If anyone know's any more about this please enlighten me. Many Thanks
