Thanx for that Jo. I realise that there is a problem when submitting an LBA demanding repayment of £4275 and subsequently splitting it into seperate claims of £1500 sahould I have to go to court. My potential route is to send an LBA demanding £1500 in unlawful charges to be reimbursed covering a period of say 2004 until the present. After resolution of THIS claim I would then submit another LBA covering £1500 from maybe 2001 until 2004 and proceed from there. Does anyone know if someone has tried this route?

I am in the fortunate position that I have personal account statements going back to 1994 and business account statements as far back as 1993. I have sent LBAs to HBOS demanding reimbursement in full and will post updates on my thread. I would appreciate some advice on my other claim however.......... I am looking to reclaim a total of £4275 and since I live in Scotland this could be problematic because of the £750 and £1500 limits. I got to thinking though........... Would it be possible to lodge a claim for £1500 from say 2004 to the present then after resolution lodge another claim for unlawful charges of a further £1500 on the SAME account from say 2001 to 2004 then so on etc way back to 1993? First of all I would like to thank everyone who helps maintain this site and takes time out of their lives to advise people like me who are just starting out on what seemed such a daunting process. Your efforts are certainly appreciated and as I move further along with my claims I will do my best to help others with theirs. I have 1 personal and 2 business accounts with HBOS. Thankfully I have kept all my statements from as far back as April 1993 and am going to attempt to claim 14 years worth of charges. I used the LBA template from this site and sent my claim for £1864 in charges on my personal account going back to April 1994 on 12th April. Updates will be posted as and when..... 1st business account LBA (£550) was sent on 13th April. I would expect this to be the least complicated because it is under the £750 threshold for small claims court and only goes back to 1998. 2nd business account is a little more tricky because of the sum involved. I am claiming £4275 going back all the way to April 1993. Unfortunately the Scottish system becomes tricky over £1500. The fact that it looks unlikely that claiming in multiples of either £750 or £1500 would succeed (just 1 of the many great pieces of advice that i have read here in past few days) got me thinking........... If I claim £1500 from say 2004 to the present would it be possible after this was resolved to claim another £1500 in unlawful charges from say 2001 to 2004 then do the same again for 1998 to 2001 etc etc??? This would take longer but it might be another tactic available to anyone else in my position Perhaps someone with more knowledge than me could advise???
