I am looking for a bit of advice. I have been paying Mackenkie Hall for about 10 months for a Barclay Card debt froom a number of years ago. They contacted me recently to tell me that I had missed payments and that the agreement was broken (they are collected on behalf of The Lowell Group) - not sure who they are either. I contacted them and informed them that I had not missed any payments and I had the bank statements to prove it. This was sorted out and they said they would update their records. I received a phone call at work from the Account Manager of MH telling me that they want me to pay more back a month (I told him where to go and hung up). Today I received a letter which says: 'Your account has now been passed to MH's payment plan dept as our client has asked for a full review of your current arrangement. Our client informed us that they are not aware of any legitimate reason for non-payment of their account and although they would prefer an amicable settlement, theywill not hesitate to commence formal proceding if required. Payment in full must now be received in our office within 7days or further action may commence.' Can they do this if i have been paying??
