  1. Well done P! Excellent result. Hopefully ALL their nonsense will end now and you'll be able to get on with spending your hard earned dosh in peace. fiford
  2. Look further down this board for pmcmurrough v bank of ireland. He and a girl whose user name I've forgotten are heading up the fight against BoI. If you read his thread, you'll see that the bank seem to be taking him on. The judge has set aside a full day to hear their claims on April 16. The NI Consumer council seem to be being very helpful. I'm waiting to see the outcome of that case before proceeding. Like you, I'm claiming more than £2k. I think you have to break it down into separate claims, do it in stages. It's all a bit confusing isn't it? fiford
  3. Hi Ruud, Hope it's okay to suggest this here, but I would recommend you log on to the Motley Fool http://www.fool.co.uk and go on to their Dealing With Debt discussion board. You'll get fantastic advice there. Someone from their reclaiming charges board referred me to this site so I'm just returning the favour really. fiford
  4. I'm thinking of waiting until April 16 - the big court day - before sending BoI a LBA. Not sure what to do. I hate dealing with them. fiford
  5. Hi guys, I just got this useful info from the General Consumer Council of NI "Unfortunately, to date no cases against the Bank of Ireland have been heard in the Small Claims Court as they have been adjourned until the Office of Fair Trading publishes their report. However, we are expecting a case to be heard in Belfast on 16 April 2007. As you are aware the Small Claims Court handles claims were the value is not more than £2000. You may be able to make two separate claims for your bank charges, however you would need to contact the Small Claims Court for advice on this issue and if the two claims can be made at the same time. The Court Service's telephone number is 028 9072 4566. However, you can also take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) instead of the Small Claims Court as there is no limit on the amount you can claim. The FOS is taking a much tougher line with banks and as this service is free to consumers you may wish to consider it. The FOS application form can be downloaded at www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk." That's why there's been a deafening silence on Bank of Ireland settlements! Best fiford
  6. Hi, I'm also trying to claim back more than £2k from Bank of Ireland - and completely lost in this maze of a site! I'm told it's worth persevering...
