  1. Hi, I thought it was time to introduce myself. I have been reading these really inspiring threads for many months and have finally found time to post my own thread!. I have realy appreciated all the help and advice found here and the courage to continue. I have reached the (AQ) allocation stage for a relative. My story to date began in Dec 06. Data Protection Act letter sent 11.12.06 Recieved statements 06.01.07 Preliminary Letter sent 14.01.07 for claim of £1810 Goodwill gesture offered 08.02.07 Refused offer for (half amount) claimed Two letters sent before LBA which were ignored -complaint forwarded Letter before action sent 29.04.07 List of highlighted statements and calculations (without interest) taken into local bank to forward to London (saving postage)! Filed in person to court 18.05.07 Barclays acknowledged claim 31.05.07 (with intention to defend all the claim). Barclays entered defence 15.06.07 Recieved another settlement letter for £1,365 on 21.06.07 Declined offer by letter. I forwarded a full schedule of charges (highlighted) along with interest calculations to the court (another copy to Barclays) in May. I believe my defence letter is standard and has stated that Barclays requires strict proof of each charges and the date therof?. I have experienced nothing but continuous stalling from this bank on soo many occasions now and wish I had acted upon this earlier. Experienced problems with Barclays losing a third party agreement within the system and therefore required to submit another, to act on relatives behalf. Forwarding the AQ soon and have to also complete a 'mediation form' which i can decline as Barclays have had ample chances to pay up in full! Await the court date next and payment - yerhoo Keeping it going, thou this one has it seems a long haul!
  2. Well the very best of luck to you all! -a very inspiring thread. I am still waiting for a response and counting the days... I will keep reading for some forthcoming successful results then
  3. Hi I have been on the Barclays website and they have new T&C's from 2007! So no help to me -for once I thought I had been given the correct info, soo sorry - I am still going to call into local branch and see if I can muster up a copy for when and if.. it comes to court
  4. Hi I called Barclays today regarding the 'terms and conditions' info to add to my court bundle when I have a date and was informed by a very helpful employee that this can be obtained on their website in the accounts section. I am now about to do this and will keep you posted if I encounter any problems or pop into local branch and collect. Sorry if i have again jumped onto this thread - but it all helps us keep going!
  5. Hi I am about to file in Norwich County Court today, I just think I've come this far and no way can turn back now -I have spent hours preparing this -just one more challenge to overcome! Good luck
  6. Hi, its very daunting, but the more I read -the stronger I have become -and this site is wonderful and inspiring. I am about to work out interest charges which I have dreaded for a while for the court claim -but since Barclays have continually ignored letters and not contacted, the more I need to keep going. Soo remember, there's many here in the same boat and here to help.
  7. Hey dont worry there's many of us in the same boat! Barclays are stalling for as long as they have too-so far I have been sent all over the country to different offices (3). The contact number supplied never answers and replies that you are unable to leave any messages? I am now complaining about that too. My final letter threatening court action has gone into the London main office await more non replies and stalling tactics. The court is there to help you -if you get a chance you can sit in and watch many cases and the process although I've read, its a small informal room and non threatening. Keep it going Good Luck!!
  8. Hi I am new. I have some good news to share I have been helping two close friends with their bank charges. I started writing the first letter to Barclays back in Dec 06. Thereafter in Jan 07 another friend wrote to the HSBC and after the second letter was offered £2,995 although this was £500 short. She decided to accept and was pleased with the result. Barclays however offered half of the amount of the £1605 claimed after the second letter. The third letter has been forwarded and to date have not responded after the two week deadline. The phone number supplied by Barclays does not respond and cannot leave messages. The named person has not responded to date. I have read of the stalling tactics and have been to the local court for the relevant papers. Any ideas of contacting the line manager of this person for a reply if the third letter has been recieved. We are learning all the time and did not send the letter by registered post. I am confused to what adddress I put down of Barclays on the court as we have been referred to three offices around the country to date.
