  1. Thanks for that. Now do I write to Equita or the Local Authority or both? Thanks!
  2. Hi Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I have been provided the following breakdown in costs from Equita relating to an unpaid PCN. Parking Fine: £95.00 Initial Letter: £11.20 Statutory Visit Fees: £30.00 Attendance/Removal Charges: £310.00 VAT: £52.68 When I received the initial letter I popped a cheque in the post for £107.88 as requested. Two weeks later I received a phone call claiming I owed all of the above. I paid up straight away as I would have done if I had know the bailiff had visited. I doubt they ever did. As for the cheque Equita claimed that they had not received it. Thay may very well have been the case due to the postal strikes in London. The cheque was returned to me by Equita sometime later. The question I am asking is this: Can Equita charge for the removal charge when nothing was removed? Does statue allow them to do this. I have read elsewhere that a removal fee cannot be charged unless something has been removed. And lastly do I claim directly to Equita or to the Local Authority or both? Thanks for your help!
  3. Hi all. Yes I'm too lazy and still haven't sorted out my claim! However I was wondering if it is still worth giving it a go considering the OFT case. Can anyone tell what to do or if there is a thread that explains all? Thanks
  4. Thanks for that Saintly very useful info.
  5. I was wondering if there was anyone here who has made a successful settled claim against Barclays who would be willing to copy me a set of their papers just so that I can get the gist of how to do it properly? I obviously won't copy them I just want to make sure I get all the correct paper work sent to the court etc. Why do you think I'm called Lazy lol! Thank you again!
  6. Just contacted Bow County Court myself and they are still accepting claims although a stay could be put on them at anytime.
  7. Hi Again Still haven't managed to put my claim in having been bogged down with my wedding and then the whole OFT test case etc but noticed that some Courts are still processing claims. I think my local County Court is Bow in London. Does anyone know if they are still processing claims? Thanks!
  8. Hi all I haven't yet got round to making a claim yet but due to the increased media interest this week thought I'd better make a start. Anyway, I noticed that due to the OFT report and likely cover up by the banks the 6 year limitation may not apply. I am one of those sad people who has kepted his statements since the day he opened a bank account! I therefore have the info to go back years. Has anyone tried this yet or is trying, and is it worth a go or is too risky in case the whole claim could be rejected? Any info gratefully received! Thanks
  9. Good Luck... They probably won't turn up. Too expensive to instruct Counsel!
  10. Hi Everyone Just about to embark on my claim. I have my statements already so just need to sit down and work out the quantum. I was just wondering if anyone has or if anyone knows of anyone who has had their account closed as a result of Court action against Barclays. The last thing I want right now is finacial difficulties due to a bad credit rating etc.. Thanks for your advice.
  11. Hi I've you've got your statements it's just a question of going through them and working out the charges. You may only receive copy statements in any event which would mean going throught them line by line.
  12. Has anyone tried claiming more than six years using the s.32 (1) (b) The Limitation Act 1980 argument?
  13. Thanks Advoc.. sorry for having not responded sooner but I've been laid low with the flu... proper flu! Off to the Barclays forum.. let the battle commence...
  14. Hi Joined up to see what we can do with my bank charges. Shame can only claim back 6 years because recently I've been quite good at keeping within budget. I'm with Barclays and wondered if anyone knows how quickly or how easily they are paying out. Cheers
