  1. Can you still claim unemployment benefit / jobseekers allowance even though your savings are above the allowed threshold (whatever that is) ?
  2. Thank you very much livelylad. Invaluable advice. I am still reading through the threads on mortgages and Early Redemption Clauses (ERCs) and it looks like bad news. However I did find an interesting link to another thread by Chrismc who has a draft copy of a letter he sent to G-MAC in the body of one of his posts - very useful (http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/other-institutions-successes/44835-g-mac-early-redemption.html ). He managed to save about £6K. So I have just copied it and amended it to my circumstances and it's going in the post to Mortgage Express as soon as my wife signs it. As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Fingers crossed. I will let people know if I get any joy.
  3. Hello, just found out today it will cost me over £2100 in early redemption fees to sell my but-to-let flat. I can't earn any money on it because of extortionate management fees and now I'm getting penalised for selling it. Twice if you include Capital Gains tax. Has anyone bought the "Small Claims Procedure" book or seen any reviews for it ? Anyway hi to everyone. Steve.
