  1. Just incase I would also send a copy of the letter to the Sales Directors Secratery, with a note explaining about your childs near accident and how rude their customer service dept was.   2. Comets insurance normally covers New for Old replacement unlike some that offer you a refurbished item as a relacement like HP and IBM, Currys. Also covers Accidental Damage. Remebering from my Laptop Insurance with Comet. I just took it into my local store and they sent it away for me to Acer. Got confirmation it was kaput then waited a few days and got letter from insurance policy saying to go pick a new one for £XXX or have same one. Also meant no paying out of any excess or pay and claim back repair. Better than house insurance as theres no premium increase each year if you do make a claim. If you dont take out there policy Domestic & General normally send out a yearly one to you just before your product is 12 months old. If you do decide to go the way of Comets Insurance..... Only get the 3 year policy as laptops change so fast now. Hope this helps, if not just ignore me Mike
  3. I used to work for comet about 4 years ago as an Admin Manager. I would have thought your purchase would have been on a 6 months interest free Option as they called it. Meaning you would make 6 small payments and then have the option to pay off the balance by the 6th month which would then be 0%... Otherwise they back date the interest to day 1 of your purchase and your on the 60 or 48 months payment. So I would say from your comment that you are just paying the small direct debit to them each month? Comets finance company always sent out a MyWay, Edge Card or Timeplan card when someone purchased something on 0% but they probably failed to explain that in the shop, and that its about 26.9% interest on any balance you put on the card and dont pay off straight away. contact GE Money directly who operate these accounts, and they will be only to pleased too assist you with your enquiry.
