  1. You's decide this is the one I bought eBay.co.uk: ACER TRAVELMATE 230XC .PENTIUM 4 (item 260084604520 end time 14-Feb-07 18:53:16 GMT) This is the one he bought and resold eBay.co.uk: Acer Travelmate 230XC Laptop with A LOT Of Extra's!! (item 280077675585 end time 04-Feb-07 19:39:01 GMT) Its also good to know you can count on ebay to support you. I contacted others who had bought of him and I got the boot for apparantly breaching there terms and conditions, this means I can not file a dispute through ebay for item not as described
  2. And would I have any luck of winning? I mean he bought it the week before he sold it to me as being faulty with the exact same problem that it now has, yet he sold it as working and didn't mention the problem
  3. See my other thread also, I have just discovered from his feedback he bought it with the screen not working for £100 faulty, He sold it to me for £200 working and it doesn't the screen doesn't work. Surely I have a case
  4. Following this thread http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-consumer-issues/70552-can-someone-please-help.html about my laptop dying, I have something interesting. I checked his feedback low and behold theres feedback from where he bought my laptop (Faulty). And what is the fault? Screen not working, exact same problem that I have, I know its the same laptop as it came with extras etc as did mine, so infact he bought this laptop for £100 faulty, sold it to me working and it doesn't Do I now have enough to take him to court or Police or something
  5. It was an auction. How do I get trading standards invloved?
  6. No he was a business, He sells loads of them. He told me he was a business as he threatened to take me to court when paypal stopped my payment, hence why I sent another via cheque
  7. yep im really in a pickle, Paid twice for a broken item, can I take the seller to small claims?
  8. No they are looking invoices from shops where i bought my items, like who keeps 2 year old cd receipts from hmv, which is amongst some of the items required
  9. Right I sold a laptop on ebay, with the money I got I bought another again of ebay, Paypal limited my account, but the seller guy had already sent me my laptop at this stage, they put them funds on hold, so I sent the guy payment again via cheque on the understanding that he contact paypal and tell them I paid him again via cheque so paypal would relases the funds back to me. I hadn't posted my laptop I sold at this stage so did not complete the transaction with the laptop I sold, I want to refund my buyer but the seller I bought my laptop of hasn't contacted paypal to release the funds to me so I can do a refund. And to top it of the laptop I bought has now broke, meaning I paid a seller twice and the laptop is broke, and the guy I sold my laptop to is taking me to court to get his money back, which i want to give him but I cant as paypal will not release the money
  10. This will be quite long but I really need advice on what to do!! Basically I sold a laptop, and with the funds bought another all through Paypal. Anyway the guy I bought mine of sent it special delivery, I got it the next day, excellent service so far. Anyway I had mine all wrapped up ready to post the next weekend, The morning I was abought to post I checked to get the buyer address through my paypal account and was shocked to see it limited. I got an email from Paypal saying something along the lines of being high risk I had to verify a few things, which Include invoices from where I originally bought my items, which I simply don't have, I phoned paypal and they said I need all this documentation to get the limitation lifted. In the mean time the money I paid to get my laptop was put on hold, and off course the seller wasn't happy, He was huffing and puffing about calling the Police on me and taking me to court etc, So I asked him if I pay you by cheque will you tell paypal this so they can release the funds, "Oh yes no problem" he said, so I sent of the cheque to him Special delivery, he got it the next day. The guy I sold my laptop to I told him I could not complete the transaction, and I can't as theres no way of getting the limitation lifed so he filed a complaint against me and assures me if he doesn't get his money back it'll be court for me. When the guy I paid by cheque received it he went back on his word, he is avoiding me so I have no way of getting my money back, I sent paypal an email with the tracking number which proves I paid him via cheque, there is even his signature, but paypal will not release the funds to me unless this guy gives them the go ahead, and thus I can not refund the original sender and am going to end up in court, and if I do go to court I'm damn sure I'm taking someone else with me that caused this mess. Now just this morning I turn the laptop on, its dead, the display does not work, the harddrive does not come on, all that comes on is the fan. So what do I do? I have paid twice for an item that is now broke after 3 hrs use. I'm £400 down and about to be taken to court also. Please help!!
  11. Theres 3 services, Setanta Ireland, Setanta Northern Ireland and Setanta UK. Sentanta Ireland has a channel called Setanta Ireland which shows premiership football, Setanta Ireland is also available to Northern Ireland but when premiership footie comes on its blocked, Setanta UK can't get Setanta Ireland at all
  12. I signed up with Setanta Sports last Friday for the main reason they show premiership football on Setanta Ireland. I'm in Northern Ireland, when I go to view the premiership it says "This Programme is Unavailable" apparantly they don't have the rights to show it in Northern Ireland only southern Ireland. So I phoned mid week saying I was looking out of the contract, they said no I had entered into a contract and have to keep it for 12 months, I quoted this to them: Distance Selling Regulations [/url] Download our business guide Home shopping: Distance Selling Regulations (pdf 127 kb). If you sell goods or services to consumers by: the internet digital television mail order, including catalogue shopping phone fax then you need to know about the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. The key features of the regulations are: you must give consumers clear information including details of the goods or services offered, delivery arrangements and payment, the supplier's details and the consumer's cancellation right before they buy (known as prior information) you must also provide this information in writing the consumer has a cooling-off period of seven working days. They said it didn't matter they won't let me out of the contract, they say they don't give any cooling of period. Is there anything I can do??
  13. So some companies drag it out. Is this usual or do they usually settle pretty quickly
  14. I feel like I'm getting no where and everyone else is having sucess, I'm starting to loose faith. I sent 1 letter asking Natwest for £210 in fees, the told me basically to get knotted, I sent the second warning of court action the sent the same reply. I filed a claim with the court, Instead of making me an offer etc, Natwest issue me a defualt and another £30 fee:-x Same is happening with Allaince and leicester, I'm just about to take them to court, Why am I getting no offers etc?? I should add I started court proceeding back on 2nd January and they only got the court papers through last week, yet I read of people getting it settled in a matter of days
  15. That was my plan, I was sure there must have been unlawful charges, so I sent the £10 and got my statements yesterday which is why I'm posting, charges add up to less than £30 so not worth claiming, its there interest fees
  16. So is there nothing we can do short of declare bankruptcy? I'll be paying this forever, and then if I did declare bankruptcy my partners down as guarantor
  17. So effectivly Im screwed? The only cure is to get a loan, but If I could get alone elsewhere I wouldn't have went to welcome in the first place
  18. I got my statements through today from Welcome finance, I took out a loan of £1500 which worked out at £2100 with interest, that was back in 03, it was due to finish in 05 yet I still owe £1201.56 and heres why. 131.54 credit Interest Posting 45.65 You get the idea, is there anything I can do, I am getting absolutly nowhere. I am making the correct monthly repayments but yet I'm getting charged extortioinate interest, I thought I was getting charges alot of fees etc as I am getting nowhere but its all interest?? Fair enough I was unemployed for 6 months and they let me make payments of £20-£30 but at this rate this loan will never end
