  1. Hi all Im just about to send the SAR but please can someone tell me how much they charge for this service ive read it's £5 then on other threads £10. Im now helping my Dad with his charges as ive just settled my claim with Halifax for £1660 im hoping to have the money very soon. My success has prompted my Dad to do the same i just hope his claim will be as easy (didnt feel like it at times) as mine was. Thanks

  3. CLAIM SETTLED AND IVE GET MY MONEY BACK !!!   Halifax sent me a two letters today one for each account. They are offering me a settlement of £1200 for our joint account and £460 for my own account. They didnt offer the amount i wanted so i rang them as the letter stated to do and after chatting to a nice guy for about 10mins i agreed to settle for the amounts above which i worked out is about £20 less than what the total amount should be. As soon as i get my money which they said will be in my account within 14 days i will be closing my accounts and moving onto the next bank which is Barclays. I will make a donation as soon as i get my money. Im so happy i can get a new car now!!! A big thankyou to everyone for all of your help. 10. Hello im back with an update, not thats it a good one yet!!! The Halifax have util Tuesday 3rd April to reply to my LBA as ive not heard anything yet. I was just wondering should i leave until Tuesday then just put in fot the court stage or should i contact them to give them a nudge in the right direction saying that the deadline is up on tuesday and i would like to know what is happening with my compliant and i will be taking it to the court stage next week. Your input would be great Thanks
  11. Silly question ive asked before but am a little unsure still or maybe just lack confidence. I posted my LBA on Tuesday 20th March Do i count weekends or just weekdays until the 14days is up..........please help.
  12. Hi Terrance First of all i suggest you read as much info from this fantastic site as poss which is what i did. When you feel you have read enough copy and paste a letter from the template library changing the wording if needs be to suit you asking halifax for 6 years of statments sending them a cheque or postal order for £10 they then have 40 days to get the statements to you. If you would rather ring halifax to get your statments you can which is what others have done and halifax take the £10 charge from your account if still a customer with them. Hope that helps to start with. And i also advice that you start your own thread so we can all see how your doing with your claim. And if you have any questions post them on your thread and someone will answer it normally quite quickly. Anything else let me know, but be warned im no expert and im still reading other peoples threads for advice and guidance.

  15. Postman Pat bought my post this morning and i had two seperate letters from the Halifax for both accounts, and guess what.........it was just the standard letter saying sorry to hear of your recent compliant blah blah blah blah it can take 8 weeks to respond to complaint blah blah blah read the leaflet which will tell you how we will handle your complaint.......... Thanks Halifax for the reading material and im sorry but it will not take 8 weeks to investiagte my complaint as im sending you the LBA on Tuesday 20th March and i want it sorting on my time scale not yours ITS MY MONEY NOT YOURS. (do i sound stern?? haha) Lets see what happens now The story so far Subject access request sent 19th Jan 2007 statements recieved 26th Feb 2007 Prelim letter sent 6th March 2007 Standard letter recieved 16th March

  17. A thread is what this is. To start one go to the Halifax forum where everyone writes about their claims and successes regarding Halifax and go to new thread near the top on the left and start your your thread putting in a heading such as hairy Vs Halifax then write about what your doing believe me it helps everyone can chip in and offer you advice and help.........like one big happy family!!! Hope that helps and i explained it ok?

  19. Hi Hairy All i can say do is just read and read everything on this site read all the threads you can. I think you can claim one at a time you dont have to do them at the same time, please corrrect me if im wrong anyone! As for the statements i have no idea :-? perehaps someone else could help you there, to be honest i would have thought changing your statements would be like forgery(if thats how you spell it?)......again correct me if im wrong. And Hairy Start your own thread then we can all follow your progress and help each other out as we are all doing the same thing. As for me.................. I checked the Royal Mail website and no infomation is available as yet to whether my prelim letter has arrived but this happened with my SAR no information was available and then i got my statements, should i ring to see if they got it or leave for a few more days, as they have until 20th March this is when the 40days is up.
