  1. hi I have had dealings with Ratio Money and they are hopeless. Had a PPI claim with them and it took them/the solicitor they allocated, over 12 months to inform me that they did not think i had a strong enough case even though I was sold single premium and was not informed of the small print by the seller. i have now given my complaint to the FOS who have kept me up to date regulary. Luckily for me I did not pay a fee to Ratio but I was getting concerned about the amount of fees the solicitor was starting to hint at if they were sucessful in getting my PPI back. Ratio's customer service is appaling, "we will call you back" usually meant not hearing anything from them until I rang back AGAIN. Don't bother with Ratio
  2. Hi I am claiming from Barclaycard and have received offer of third of claim. I am trying to get them to settle before I go to court and am sending them this letter tomorrow. would someone be kind enough to read it and let me know if it is ok please. Thank you for your letter dated 20th April 07. I respectfully decline your offer of £424. I wish to stress that I do not accept your offer and the money transfered to my account should not be viewed as my acceptance. I hereby authorise you to remove this sum accordingly. My account was closed in September 2006 and I would require the FULL refund of £955 to be credited to my Barclays account of xxxxxxx I shall be commencing court action on 7th May for the full amount claimed which will incur additional cost to yourselves, namely interest which currently stands at £184.34 and court fees of £80. If you do not refund the reclaimed fees of £955 by 7th May I will therefore be claiming a total of £1,139.34. I will also consider asking the court to issue a wasted costs order if you decide to ignore my request for full payment before taking court proceedings. I trust this clarifies my position. thanks help appreciated.
  3. thanks for answering dar. will just hang on in there, all good things come to those who wait! can i just say a big congrats to everyone who has been successful thanks to the information and support from CAG
  4. hi I'm at the final stages of my claim and just wanted to see if anyone else has had their claim transferred to Liverpool. I understand the court are not not asking for an AQ. Received defense from Barclays today and looks pretty standard stuff. Do I now just wait for court date from Liverpool? Want to ring Barclays to ask them to settle but what is the best time to do this? Is it best to wait for a court date? I have read of other claimants on this site getting some joy from ringing the bank but am bit nervous about doing this so any advice/encouragement would be very welcome. thanks
  5. hi i am at about the same stage and must admit it's not as easy as I thought to keep the faith. I had 2 offers from cap 1, they owe me 884 and they sent a letter offering 366 then week later sent another offering 226, what the...! I have now started court proceedings using MCOL. cap 1 have acknowledged and are defending the claim. they have until 11th April to put in defense. I know in my heart I will win but it's still a pain waiting for the process to progress but patience patience! good luck with all.
  6. thanks for reply. I feel sick, but am sure will be able to sort it out on Monday even if I have to pay again will be worth it. will keep you posted.
  7. I submitted a claim on MCOL last week but somehow I have made a huge mistake as today I received papers from MCOL stating my name as the claimant and my name as the defendant. Don''t kniw what I've done! Is it possible to rectify if I ring the MCOL helpline on Monday do you think? am so annoyed with myself as just don't know how I managed to get it so wrong. The claim is for £3,270 and I received a letter from barclays today offering £1000. do you think I should just put my huge mistake down to experience and accept this offer? What a prat I am!
  8. thanks for the help. will keep you up to date.
  9. Hi I am in the process of claiming back from Barclays but am getting bit confused by the court process. I submitted claim on MCOL last night. Do I need to send a letter to Barclays to inform them I have started a claim or will they just be informed by MCOL or the court? Also on my POC I did put the bit about interest (8%) but in the box asking for total I put the amount BEFORE interest, is this correct or should I have added the interest amount in here? Any help would be greatly received. Thanks Gillyfish
  10. thanks very much for speedy reply. have now added these onto my letter and spreadsheet. I do not include interest at this point, is that correct? cheers
  11. I sent letter requesting Barclays to repay charges amounting to £3,145 on 30th January. Got the usual 'we are looking into your complaint and will reply by 28th Feb'. However since 30th January we have paid another £125 in charges. My question is this; can I add these charges to spreadsheet I am about to sent with LBA? Thanks
  12. sorry about using bad language. just got carried away.
  13. I sent off my letter to Barclays asking for charges back last week. I am now waiting (almost) patiently for thier reply. I have been telling EVERYONE about this site and am in the process of helping my daughter and her friends to get the ball rolling on reclaiming thier charges. You would have thought the banks would let up a bit due to all the claims they must be processing but NO. My daughter went 97p over her overdraft limit and was charged £30 for being such a bad girl! now she has to find an extra £30 to put back into the bank just to get straight again. How on earth can the banks keep these charges up? Surely something must be done by the powers that be to stop this thieving. So please make sure you let as many people know how to recalim all our taken money. I'm going after capital one and birmingham midshires now. please dont use the s word !!!
  14. I have just started the process of reclaiming charges from Barlays. Our mortgage is with Birmingham Midshires and we have received a statement with over £300 of charges for not being paid by direct debit and for telling us we had arreas. We were charged £40 x 4 for getting a letter off them to tell us we had arreas even though I had rang them to arrange to pay off the arreas (only 1 months worth). How can they justify these charges!! Does anyone know if the reclaim process is solely to use against banks and credit card companies or can we calim againt building society? help appreciated.
  15. I have just began on my journey to getting the greedy b******* to pay up. A few freinds have told me about getting charges back but I didn't beleive them untill I started investigating on the net. We are not very good with money and I think I will be in for a shock when I find out how much we have paid in charges over the last six years. Started the ball rolling by ringing my bank for copy statements. How long does the whole process take generally? Am actually looking forward to the challange and with all the help that is available it should be relatively easy. Surely can't be too long before the banks realise how much money they are having to pay back before they fight back so am letting as many of my friends and family know about your site before that happens. Thanks for all the advice i have read so far. good luck to everyone!
