  1. Ah thanks for that. Right, just the charges it is then at this stage, I shall attach a copy of the spreadsheet (without the interest etc) and we'll see how we get on. Letter will be in the post recorded delivery tomorrow.
  2. Righto, have had all the statements and have got my charges together but I'm a tad confused about something. Should I be claiming any interest at this point or is it just the fees themselves (and what about the £10 I paid for the statements? Should that wait till court time?). Wee bit of advice please? I've filled out the excel spreadsheet & got the letter template and such... just trying to make sure I do it right given the recent ruling about them being "fair" charges...
  3. Had the last years statements, they have a week left to get my microfiche ones...
  4. Blimey I've been incredibly slack (and busy). Opened a new account elsewhere & transferred everything out leaving the abbey one with about £100 overdrawn at the mo. I intend to pay it off though and close it so they cant bung money in my account as goodwill. Sent my request for statements off via recorded delivery 22nd Feb. Had a response from the complaints team saying they will "investigate". More updates as they come!
  5. Cheers folks, yeah I did think my initial comment was likely to be somewhat incendiary, hence why I put the (allegedly). No worries though, I understand the need to protect yourselves, I'll be more cautious next time! Will be absorbing the FAQ's over the next week or so and starting the ball rolling as I am utterly sick of the shAbbeys attitude towards its customers (namely me). I was thinking Co-op as I have a cred card with them and they have been good for the last few years. I'm not really in big debt or having major money worries, I'm just massively annoyed at the lack of common sense and flexibility in abbeys approach. I've got the bit between my teeth now and I wont be letting them off the hook....
  6. Hey all, been browsing for a bit and reading loads of stories etc and it all seems a bit complicated! Still, theres loads of material here and I intend to use it. Been a shAbbey customer for about 10 years and have got progressively more and more ****ed off with their behaviour. What sparked it was a recent situation where they paid "on my behalf" 3 DD's of less than £10 each which took me over my overdraft limit to the tune of £18 for 2 days and then charged me £110 for the privelige. They refused to refund them and it made me so angry I decided I wanted EVERYTHING back they had taken me for over the years. Whichever way, I will be leaving them and am looking for somewhere else to bank that are sensible and hopefully ethical too. Any recommendations or are they all just a set of (alleged) edited Cheers!
