  1. Thanks for the replies. Good idea for the statement copy, will try that first. Going to spend a bit more time reading through the other posts, don't want to make any mistakes on this one. Like so many others I've had hassle from MBNA that could really be called bullying and want to make sure i get back every penny!

    A few questions

Hi all. Well a couple of days ago I sent the SAR off for my Abbey bank account, now I'm going to start on my MBNA abbey credit card. Judging from most of the posts, getting the SAR back from MBNA is quite a tough job. I actually only have 1 statement missing from April last year, and know that there is an over limit charge on it. What would be the best course of action here, go down the SAR route and just be patient or forget about this one and crack on with the claim for £850 in charges alone that I do have the statements for? This leads me to the next question. I find the whole interest rate thing a bit confusing. As I understand it, I need to apply it to each charge from the date of the charge. Is that right? My monthly interest rate for all transactions is 1.8735%, Sorry but my eyes glaze over whent it comes working out percentages. can someone help!! Thanks
  3. Thanks....I'm looking forward to this:D
  4. Hi, I sent out my SAR letter today with the £10 fee, and while I'm waiting for a responce (wont hold my breath judging by some of the posts on here) I'll continue to read through as much of the site as I can. I read all the guidance notes last night, but I'm still a little confused about what I can actually claim for. In the last couple of years I've had a lot (est. £1500 on the statements I have got) of £30 "Charge for clearing Direct Debit/Standing Order while overdrawn" but in the faq sheets it only mentions returned or unpaid Direct Debit/Standing Order. Do shabbey deem this as a service? Really hope not cos I wouldn't be in half the mess I am if these charges were at a more reasonable level.
