  1. Hi Hedgehog Well I sent my acceptance letter off last Tuesday, it is not showing up as signed for on Royals mails web site, have to call back today after 3pm, problem is now, Halifax states that the money will be paid 14 days from receipt of the acceptance letter - catch 22!!, Rang Customer relations yesterday and spoke to the same guy who offered my settlement, says it should be with them but has not shown up on their system and to call back next week!!! Any advice? Thanks
  2. Keep me informed Pepper, my claim is more or less the same amount as yours!! Mousey
  3. Hi Giggles I wouldn't know either, I sent my LBA on Tuesday so haven't heard sqaut of 'em. I think reading the other threads you should maybe hold on incase you get anymore chanrges, the 8% makes a lot of difference also, it is tempting though. Mousey
  4. Good for you Kev!! I sent my LBA off on Tuesday, I had also sent a letter or appropriation along with my initial request for payment, no mention of that it the fob off for 40 days letter!! So you are right, they just assume!! I only get family allowance as I work full time but they where taking their charges out of that which always came to more than my allowance taking me overdrawn on an account where I have been refused an overdraft facility of any kind, they always know when your monies in don't they, it wouldn't of been so bad if they had waiting until my monthly pay day which has been the same since I banked with them over 10 years ago!! I am going to wait until the 14 days is nearly up then will be giving them a call asking what they are going to do about it prior to MCOL which I must admit daunts me!! Also last weekend I got a second set of complete statements, 6 years worth of course, so they just don't have a clue
  5. Hi Kev Just wondered how your claim is going?? Mousey
  6. Hi Kev Received my confirmation of receipt of the SAR last week, today received statments, all 6 years worth - hightlighter at the ready, when I get a chance!! Just had 2 days off work, that would have been nice time to do it, but never mind - concerned already about the spreadsheets etc, I have never been able to grasp them!!! I would give them a quick call, I rang a couple of times - let me know how you get on. Mousey
  7. Hi All Halifax received my SAR on the 24th January, still nothing in writing received to say they have actually received my request - is this normal?? Rang them 3 times, 2 people said it had been received, 1 said it hasn't, Royal mails website said it hasn't been signed for, but recon the Halifax would have signed for a job lot!! They sent me £3.00 worth of 1st class stamps for the inconvenience!! Thanks Mousey
  8. Hi Kev, Have you received a letter from Halicrap confirming that they have your SAR and are dealing with it?? I haven't but I notice on some threads that alot have. Mousey
  9. Hi Kev, Just thought I would update you, Halifax have confirmed (3 times) that they have received my SAR and that statments will be due sometime next week. The only reason I was calling was that Royal mails website was saying the letter still hasn't been signed for, royal mail are now sending me £3.00 worth of 1st class stamps as an offer of goodwill!! Hope the Halifax will be more generous!!!! Mousey
  10. Hi Kev Jesus!! I can't think of a better buddy then!!!! Fingers crossed and I will keep you updated. Thanks again Mousey
  11. Suprise, just called the Halifax, they again told me that it should have been sent to their head office in Leeds, but he checked and they have received my request, still no confirmation on the Royal mails website - very odd - but at least they have it, lets hope they pull their fingers out and sent me my statements asap!
  12. Thanks Kev I did address it attn: Data controller, spoke with the post office, they said it can take up to 5 days!! Will ring the halifax again I recon and see if I get the same answer. As we are at the same stage, it may be nice to check up on one another Mousey
  13. Hello All After months of "thinking" about it I finally sent my SAR on Friday of last week, recorded to the Trinity Road address. Thought I would call today just to check if they have received it (royal mail website says it hasn;t bene signed for) the guy told me I should have sent it to their main address in Leeds, initally they had told me to send it to the Trinity Road address - what are they playing at? Now he recons they will have to re-send it to Leeds, how long will this take, and what are the chances of it getting lost? He also asked me for my Home/work and mobile number, never been asked for it before why now? They have totally wiped my out with their bank charges, even taking it umpteen times out of my family allowance which always takes my overdrawn (would never give me an overdraft), my mortgage, varies insurances are also with them, never had a problem with them, just my crap card cash account - any advice, I would really appreicate it. Thanks Mousey
  14. Hi All, I have been reading this website for about 2 months now before I finally decided to do something about my ridiculous bank charges, I got totally stung over Christmas and would have sent my Data protection letter alot earlier had I had £10 to spend on a postal order!! I work full time, am a mother of two with one on the way and what annoys me the most is they seem to take the charges out of my family allowance all the time leaving my overdrawn (won't give me an overdraft) My bank account, mortgage, insurances etc are all with the Halifax, but is my Bank account I have the never ending struggles with, I can't even being to think about how much I have paid in the last 6 years!! Anyway, thought I would just call the Halifax this morning to see if they have received my request for statments (they took all my phone numbers which is something they have never done before when I have called them) Apparently, the Trinity Road in Halifax address is not the one you send your request to (even thought they told me it was initially) he said I needed to send in to the Leeds address and did say it would be passed on and to give it a week, he knew completely what I was doing. The Royal Mail website is telling me my letter has not been signed for (anybody else had this) they should have received it by now. I hope to hear from somebody soon. Must admit, it is scary though!! Thanks.
  15. Thanks so much, have just typed the letter for my statements, will keep you posted.
  16. Hi Totally new and Green unfortunately, have been reading as much as I can for a couple of days now. I found myself -£33 overdrawn (unauthorised) after the Halifax had taken £75 out of my bank to pay for £20 unpaid direct debit, I have range them of course, to no avail, it really P****d me off that they couldn't honour the £20 but took it out quite happily once my peanut £42 family tax credit went in the bank!! I am a little apprehensive, but I must say the lovely guy at the halifax (3rd call) did actually advise me to write for my 6 years bank history?? I have my mortgage, insurances, savings (none of course) with the Halifax and they wouldn't even give me a small overdraft when I asked for one months ago telling me I didn't manage my bank account properly, cheeky sods, hard these days working full time, 2 kids etc, I just can't seem to get out of paying for the bank charges. I would love to hear from people, giving me a little kick up the backside to do something about it Thanks so much
