  1. Yes I mean defaulted so I can't get a loan to pay off debt now either, although I seriously doubt that I will ever want to apply for credit of any sort ever again!! I have just done a search but can't find my thread concerning this query, I will have another look for it tomorrow. Thnaks for replying.
  2. Just calculated charges on my account using the spreadsheet. Absolutely amazed that it amounts to £1666.50 thought it would probably be about £800 or so!! Shall post it with my letter today and await HSBC response. Still battling on with credit card problem with HSBC they still refuse my offer of a reduced payment due to very severe financial problems, MINT have already accepted my offer so can't see why HSBC cannot. I have already posted a thread about this (quite a while ago now) saying that I made a phone call offering this reduced amt and was told it was ok and they dutifully changed my DD for £218 a month to a SO for £50 a month. They now say they cannot accept this offer as it is too low and they cannot find evidence of my phone call!! What a surprise! Didn't think DD could be changed to SO without someone agreeing to it. Any advice would be gratefully received as I'm at a loss now and fed up with letter writing and speaking to various people within the call centres. I have 1 week left to reply to their threat of reclaiming the whole amount outstanding and they have already added me to the black list.

Thanks very much for templates they are really helpful! I have just finished writing a very lengthy letter and by the time I had reached the end I'd lost the plot and just said I was going to take them to court to get debt written off due to their incompetence. Other half said that was a bit extreme and risky and to hold fire. Am going to sleep on it now and use one of the templates tomorrow. Thanks again! I'll keep you posted.

Hi Bong Thanks very much for replying, unfortunately I have already done what you suggested and they are saying there is no evidence of my phone call where the arrangements were made to reduce payments. They haven't offered any help their letter says they are transferring me to the debt collection department and want the whole amount in full, just under £7000!! No hope. I'm going to send them my expenditure spreadsheet see what happens then. godwin

Have sent HSBC SAR relating to my current account, not holding my breath though, their making things really difficult for me at moment. I am in bit of wrangle with them at mo over credit card payment so i would be extremely grateful for any advice. I phoned them in August to say myself and my partner are experiencing financial difficulties at the moment and could i reduce my monthly payments to £50 a month? Guy on phone said yes that was fine and changed my dd of £218 to a so of £50. Great sorted i thought but oh no started being hassled by bank 3 or 4 times a day saying i wasn't meeting my payments explained to customer service person about the arrangement and she said there was no record of arrangemnt (even though my dd had been changed) and they wouldn't except any other payment other than what I was previously paying. Tried to explain that I couldn't make these payments but she just kept repeating the same bit of rehearsed spiel and wouldn't budge. Completely stressed out now because this morning I have received a letter from HSBC saying that as I was unwilling to accept offer of £136 month payments (this amount has never been mentioned once by either parties!) they will now be referring me to the debt collection agency and will be recovering the outstanding amount in full, just under £7000! Help!! I phoned for help and this is the best they can do. No problems with other banks and credit cards they have all been helpful. Trying to phone CAB as suggested by HSBC but can't get through I need to do something now feel this is taking over my life at the moment I need to see an end to it. If anyone has any advice I would be very grateful
  6. I Basically found this site out of desperation, Running into Financial Trouble seems to turn your world upside down. Then if the usual everyday things associated with this aren't enough to deal with we get harrassed by the people we owe Money to. The problem is they seem to make the situation worse by applying charges here and there. This is all probably old News but the point is I found this site and on it are lots of people like me and that comforts me in the sense that I'm not alone, It has started to show me that there is light at the end of the tunnel after all. I will be challenging hsbc, mint. Good luck to ALL and see you in the Forums.
  7. Hope mine goes as smoothly! I've just put my 'Subject Access Request' letter in envelope with my £10 just got a feeling I'm in for a long battle with HSBC, never done anything like this before so very apprehensive.
