  1. Hello, well what can I say. I sent first letter, response was 1/3rd of claim in full and final settlement. £2,003. Polite letter back to them saying no thanks to offer want all the money - give you one more chance and seven days. Nice letter back saying No sorry not going to pay up. in fact no money at all. So wrote back again letter giving deven days notice before I'll put claim into court. Another letter saying no. Filed claim in court went in person as it was easier. Fourteen days no response. Nothing. Rang court on fifteenth day, no response, sent in judgement form plus interest added. Next day had letter from court saying Halifax were going to defend it and had another fourteen daysto file defense. This was Friday.Thought bother no money for Christmas! On the Monday checked my account and original claim amount was in there. All of it. Nearly had heart attack. Have now sent another letter to reclaim charges back while it was all going on. Claim £6,100. Interest £718. Total Claimed back £6,818. Just don't loose heart. I'm going after the Nat West now for my partner.
  2. Well, I've now gone through the legal process and they haven't replied to the Court Papers, so I've sent the form back to get judgement entered immediately, no point in hanging about. If I get no response, say two days time, I'll ring Halifax and see if they are going to sort it. If not I'll get a Warrant issued and ask the Bailiffs to visit my Local Branch. That should cause a stir! We'll see what happens next.
  3. Hi Again, Well spent a very happy six hours going back over six years worth of bank statements and logging them on to check interest amounts. Wot fun. I have now got everything together and will post off today my first letter. Will let you know responses as and when. It is interesting to note that things only really got bad when BOS and the computer took over and carried on working all through the weekend. I used to go down to pay in cash/cheques in the machine outside only to find it was out of order. It's even worse now they (the Halifax) say that if I use my card on the internet, the floor limit of the company I am buying from may be £50 before they check with the Halifax for clearance. This has resulted in a lot of my charges over the last year. I think this is also an unethical way of making huge amounts of money out of unsuspecting people. If you click to pay for something on the internet, and it is allowed, this may not mean you have the money available. They are allowing it and will finally claim it from the bank by which time you may go over your limit and incur more charges. The Halifax says it is not their fault! They give these companies the limits don't they.
  4. Hello I'm new, but about to take Halifax on with at least £4,850 charges over the last three years, since my partner lost his income. I was fairly good until Sept 03 oh well, am just writing my first letter. Let you know how I get on.
